Location was beautiful and house was large and clean. The kitchen and bathrooms are minimally stocked but I had read that in previous reviews so it wasn't a surprise. The white couches in the living room and the carpets are a bit stained but the bathrooms and kitchen were very clean.

Great view of the crashing surf and right across the street from the beach. All en-suite bathrooms with lovely cabinets and sinks. Nice kitchen that is fairly well stocked. Firm beds but very thin bedding. Perfect place to enjoy the beach, go biking along the trails in Half Moon bay and many great restaurants.

Overall a nice place, plenty of room, large bedrooms each with bathrooms plus a half bath. Views of ocean thru multiple power lines. Parking for one car safely multiple cars would be a challenge. Very busy corner with heavy traffic!

Property was great. Richard was very responsive for any questions I had. The only request would be to have some additional things in the kitchen…aluminum foil, plastic bags…just some little things to make it really easy. We definitely enjoyed our stay! Great house with everything we needed included, in quiet area with really nice view of ocean, beach is just a short walk across street. Short drive from many restaurants and easy access to drive to SF or bay areas. The owner was very responsive. I'd recommend it for family or friend trips

The house itself is spacious, clean, and well-equipped, ideal for two families. The upstairs suite has a large walk-in closet and two cots, perfect for young children. The downstairs bedrooms are roomy with private bathrooms. Richard, the host, is responsive, kind, and accommodating, making our stay seamless. If you’re seeking an unforgettable Northern California coastal experience, this is the place.

My family and I enjoyed a relaxing birthday trip at this spacious, beachfront home. There are views of the ocean from almost every room, and 2nd floor and roof top decks to enjoy the ocean which was just a couple of hundred yards away. The home is very spacious with 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, plus a lovely backyard. The host was also very hospitable and we will definitely be back.

Our family of 4 had a great stay. The owner was a great host and even mailed us back a jacket we had left in the dryer and forgotten about. We used the house as a base for our trips to Sausalito, SF and Half Moon Bay but came back each night to watch the sunset over the Pacific. Be careful pulling in/out of the driveway as we found other drivers often didn’t look when turning the corner.

The house was wonderful. Very spacious and exactly as described. The view from the upper deck was amazing. We spent several evening just enjoying the view. Property manager was helpful and prompt. Also provided a binder with helpful tips about the area which was unexpected but very useful! Our whole group agreed we would love to come back!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week in Montara. The home was beautiful, comfortable and clean. Excellent kitchen, fabulous living room and decks, comfortable spacious bedrooms each with its own bathroom. We enjoyed the views from the upper and lower decks. Hiked nearby trails and enjoyed watching the surfers while walking the beach just across the street. We took easy day trips to San Fran, Marin county down to Carmel. Watched the seals at nearby Fitzgerald Preserve. The owner was thorough, prompt and kind. We have use VRBO for many years and this was one of our very best experiences.

Lovely home, great views of ocean, plenty of space. Short walk to the ocean and a short walk to hiking trails. The out door shower had warm water so it was petfect to wash off kids before going inside. My only recommendation to parents with a toddler, is to bring bungee cords to secure a baby gate to the spiral staircase.

We had a great trip and we were treated to a show of whales!! The roof top deck was awesome for whale watching. When it was cool outside you can just sit on the couch and look at the waves and the ocean! I would highly recommend staying here!!

We loved our stay at this beach house--the two decks were fantastic with an incredible view of the beach, surfing, and cliffs, and lots of bird watching (and squirrel watching). The location is amazing being across the street from the beach. Shops and restaurants are close by (we enjoyed Sam's Chowder House, Soul Grind Coffee, and Half Moon Bay Brewing all within a few minutes' drive). Richard was good to communicate with for check in & out. The house was gorgeous. Every bedroom having an en-suite bathroom made for a nice stay for our group of five. The main floor had high ceilings with gorgeous windows and the house was clean overall. A few small amenities were just slightly lacking which if upgraded, could have made our stay *perfect*, to match the quality & location of the house (e.g. no shampoo/conditioner provided, YouTube didn't work on the older streaming box, leftover instant coffee only). We would stay again but would bring a few amenities with us now that we know.

Really enjoyed our stay at the property. There were beautiful views from the main living space as well as the patio and rooftop deck. We loved watching the surfers in the mornings, and the beautiful sunsets in the evening. Drive back and forth from San Francisco was easy, and always beautiful. The house had all the basics covered, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The split floorplan with the bedrooms downstairs was convenient so our toddler could sleep in a quiet area away from the living space. We also loved the food at Gherkin's Sandwich shop which was a quick walk from the house.

We are so glad we found this property for the weekend. The home is beautiful with perfect views of the ocean from the two decks. The check in process was very easy and Richard was always quick to respond to any questions we had. Gherkins sandwich shop is just down the street where they have the best food. We come to montara just to grab sandwiches from there. You will love this place!

Great stay! Loved the beach house! Clean, and plenty of space for 4 sisters on a girls trip! The Devil’s Slide trail is a must. Walked across the street to the beach, and ventured down the way to Moss Beach and Half Moon Bay for Dinner and checking out the area. Really enjoyed the views from the living room and decks! Watched the surfers and even saw a whale! Would definitely recommend!

Loved the property, location and ambience. Right across the ocean. House was clean and tidy. No problems faced with electricity, Internet or any other utilities. Bedrooms were spacious and no lack of any bedsheets or comforters. House is also not too far off from any shopping center, so do not have to drive long for food and any other items. We were also able to get a 30 minutes extension for checkout thanks to our gracious host. All in all, a weekend worth remembering. Thank you. Take care.

We were looking for a place to rent that would house 3 families - mine (with toddler twins), my parents, and my brother, his wife, and their newborn. This place could not have been better! The kitchen and dining area was big enough to accommodate all of us doing different things (making bottles, toddler breakfast, coffee, etc), and space for everyone to have their own bedroom, bathroom and baby beds/pac n plays. The views from the house are spectacular - I particularly liked watching the sunrise from the roof-top deck. Perfect place for an afternoon at the beach or a sunset walk. Highly recommend, and hope to return!
