"Banyan Beach Cottage" - Enjoy beautiful sunsets over the gulf from the spacious wrap around decks on both levels of this beautiful home on Cape San Blas.
This spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath home features gorgeous cathedral post and beam ceilings in living/dining room and master suite. Lovely flagstone fireplace and hardwood floors in living room. Large flat screen, smart TV with Bose surround sound system over the fireplace. Sliding doors in living room open onto covered deck with plenty of seating. There is a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. Leather sectional includes two recliners.
Kitchen, baths, hallway and laundry area have new tile floors. Kitchen is generously stocked. Both main level bedrooms have queen-size beds along with twin roll-aways. Beautiful master suite on upper level has king-size bed, with double sinks and closets in the newly remodeled master bath. All bedrooms are equipped with new smart TVs with remotes and have sliding glass doors which open onto the deck. There is also a ceramic-tiled laundry area on the second floor.
VRBO incorrectly states our property is a 6 mile drive to the beach (see pictures). We are just steps to the beach at the end of our private road. This home has plenty of parking for a small boat or jet ski and is a short distance to the state park’s public boat launch. Banyan Beach is professionally landscaped and has an outdoor hot and cold shower and gas grill. Conveniently located two blocks to grocery/sundry stores (including a seafood company) on the Cape but only 20 minutes from more shopping in Port St. Joe or 30 minutes from Appalachicola's restaurants and shops.

Great location. Big house with plenty of room to spread out. Very responsive host. Banyan House was the perfect match to our needs for an extended stay. Our dog loved it too!

The owner was very responsive to an issue with a toilet not flushing correctly and somebody was there to fix it the following day. The house inside was nice but needs a deep clean. The bed skirt in the first bedroom has a stain that can’t be missed when making the bed. In the master bedroom there were feathers and an uncrustable wrapper on the floor at the head of the bed. Thick dust and cobwebs on the fireplace mantel. I cleaned these myself as I always leave a house cleaner than I found it and feel housekeeping should have caught these in a routine inspection after guests checkout. The description claims the house is newly renovated and has new appliances. I don’t find this to be true. The pictures the owners have showing the view from the second deck claims you can see the sunset over the gulf. This picture is pre 2007. Many houses now block that view. Just check google earth history and it will confirm this timeline. Description also claims professional landscaping. There is no landscaping. The decks are questionable in many areas and the stair railing is wobbly. The chairs on the first deck near the entry door were very wobbly and not really usable. I personally would not rent this house again.
