Northern Memories is a four season private vacation home nestled in a secluded setting with 150 feet of frontage on the shores of 1400 acre Ike Walton Lake. A sand lake bottom with gradual depth makes swimming and sunning a pleasure. The lake has limited public access, and no active resorts, so boat traffic is minimized. An abundant walleye and smallmouth bass population awaits the fishing enthusiast, with pan fish to keep the kids happy. We have a pier for swimming and boats, plus a large carpeted swim raft. Included are a 14 foot aluminum row boat, canoe and paddle boat.
Autumn offers gorgeous colors on the lake, or hikes in the woods. Winter enthusiasts enjoy the Snowmobile and X-C trails in the area. Spring fishing is great.
This 1850 square foot home offers rustic luxury in a majestic full log retreat. We have 3 large bedrooms plus a sleeping loft, 2 full baths, a great room with fireplace, a modern kitchen, separate laundry room, and country charm throughout. Our huge deck is level with the lake, and is perfect for cook-outs or watching the sunset. The large screened porch runs along the side of the building. This non-smoking home sleeps up to 9 guests.
Just 15 minutes from Minocqua, Northern Memories offers easy access to favorite vacation activities, such as shopping, ski shows, restaurants, golf, and winter sports. After a fun-filled day, return for a quiet walk in the woods, sunsets on the lake, or a campfire at the beach.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Northern Memories. A true north woods log cabin, cozy and inviting. Well stocked kitchen. Modern updates and we lacked for nothing. We spent a lot of time on the expansive deck, enjoying our wooded setting with a lake view and dock. The owners respond quickly if you need to contact them. Part of our stay turned rainy and cold, but cabin was comfortable, stocked with games and puzzles and two large screen tvs. Between enjoying the wooded setting and admiring the construction of the cabin, I can't decide my favorite part of our stay. So glad we found this home.

Very comfortable except for the beds. Bunk beds awfulKitchen well supplied and nice cookware. outside area and deck great.Tv...need a smart phone to get any channels and create an account. No directions of how to operate that system. Thank goodness my grandson was there. Not old people friendlyLast day no power, called number on the information sheet but no answer. left my number but got no response. Wanted to let owner know the skylight windows were leaking on the loft bed and floor.

We have rented several cabins in this area over the years in the same price range and I would rate this cabin average at best.
The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the poor condition the hardwood floor is in. It definitely needs sanded down and refinished. The second major drawback is the kitchen. It looked like a 1980's DIY job gone bad. The cupboard door and drawers were all very crooked and did not fit the box. Very poor job on installation. The tiles on kitchen floor were worn and need updated.
This cabin is definitely not Rustic Luxury as advertised. Other cabins we have stayed at were up to date and very nice. While this cabin was comfortable, it needs updated (especially the kitchen). The walls in hallway need either washed down or a fresh paint job. The fireplace could be beautiful, however, owners have not removed the smoke stains from the stones. A simple fix! Similiar instance in the kitchen - if you are going to remove a cupboard door to make open shelving, remove the hinges too!
Also the contraption on the wall next the microwave was filthy. Door to sunroom was rusty - replace it or paint it! Whatever was removed in kitchen (trash compactor maybe?) needs to have a nice replacement piece put on - not a piece of particle board!
The yard going to lake was still full of summer lawn chairs, etc. It was messy and not
a pleasant sight to enjoy.
That said, the structure of the cabin is nice, the sofa and love seat were comfortable as were the beds. The kitchen was adequately stocked and table and chairs were nice and comfortable.
As I said, I am comparing this to other places we have stayed and it simply doesn't measure up. If this type of stuff doesn't bother you, it's an okay place to stay and would be ideal to stay in the summer with direct access to the lake. However, luxury it is not.
