A New Chapter — Kailua Beach Bungalows Closing June 2027
After twelve wonderful years of welcoming guests to our Kailua Beach Bungalows, Scott and I will be closing the bungalows at the end of June 2027 as we begin an exciting new chapter and move to South Africa.
Until our departure, both bungalows will continue welcoming guests, with select availability throughout 2026 and January–May 2027.
We look forward to welcoming guests for one final year in Kailua before our next adventure begins.
Aloha! We renovated this old-style Hawaiian home so that it will have the charm of old Hawaii with modern conveniences.
This garden oasis (we've planted over 3,000 trees and plants) is in the most awesome location - situated right at the entry of Kailua Beach Park - walk out the back gate and you are 100 steps from Kailua Beach where you will find 2.5-miles of its famous soft white-sand and turquoise water - - often rated in the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. Beach walk, swim, kayak, wind-surf, kite board, body surf, snorkel, hike, walk/jog the Lanikai loop - there is an abundance of fun activities here...or, completely relax and chill out - it's very easy in this quiet & secluded bungalow on the 1st level of a 2-story home.
Great retreat for a maximum of 2 easy-going, nonsmoking (since we request no smoking anywhere on the property) adults (25 years and older only).
The bungalow rental includes:
- Off-street parking
- Private entry
- Private outdoor garden with a barbecue
- Wireless Internet
- Air Conditioning
- Flat screen TV w/ HD cable including free HBO & Showtime
- Kitchen includes: Mid-size fridge, microwave, toaster oven, induction cook top (solo), blender, coffee maker, tea hot pot
- A new garden room with a 6' by 4' window overlooking your private garden...
The plates, silverware, wine glasses, bedding, towels, etc. are all top quality. Queen sized bed.
Also includes:
Beach chairs, beach towels and cooler - an iron and ironing board - blow dryers, , etc... it's got it all.
Washer/dryer (shared)
To be good neighbors, we ask that our guests have no more than 2 additional guests on the property.
The property will be made exclusively available to the renter for a full period of 30-days and no one else may occupy the property during that period. The 30-day rental period will be communicated to guest upon booking.

We would like to thank Cheri and Scott for being wonderful hosts. They accommodated everything we needed including changing the dates with short notice due to a medical issue. We had a fabulous stay in the secluded bungalow which was perfect for a couple in need of a relaxing vacation. So pretty, such an incredible garden and steps out the back gate to the beach. It was perfect for us in every way

We spent a wonderful month here and really enjoyed the peaceful and private space. Perfect for two people, great hosts, easy beach access, and the gardens are gorgeous!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this wonderful cottage by the sea. The cottage was delightfully decorated with a tropical feel and equipped with everything you could want to make your stay comfortable. Alan and Cheri, made all the details of checking in and getting settled effortless. The jewel of the cottage was the beautiful garden area where we would spend many hours reading and enjoying the tropical plants, flowers and birds. It truly was a slice of paradise.
