We Had a great New Years experience with Family and the Kids Friends. Great Property close to the beach and great exercise as there are 43 stairs from entry to the top bedroom:)

First, let me say we stayed in this property back in 2013 over New Years and it was a very comfortable and accommodating stay. We had two families of four and the house is roomy - bedrooms are a nice size and all stayed comfortably. The property was fairly clean and kitchen stocked with basics. While the property is not right on the beach, it has a nice view of the ocean and was pleasant.
We decided to rent again this year and unfortunately the property has gone downhill. Upon our arrival we noticed several things - a large crack in one of the bathroom mirrors, most air vents in the home are filthy dirty, shelves in kitchen are dirty, dishes /utensils that were put away were also filthy with gunk so we had to rewash several things. There was no oven mitt to take items out of the oven so my kids almost burnt themselves while cooking a pizza (could not find a kitchen towel either). A few slats on the plantation shutters are broken. I could go on.
Wild Dunes is a great place for families looking to have the peace of ocean side while great access (20-30 min depending on traffic) to Charleston. The property has a lot of potential - just isn't well kept. So the good news is that all is fixable. However, unfortunately next time will try another rental.
