Condo 1-102 at the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club Resort is as close as you can get to the ocean on the Big Island of Hawaii. The condo section of the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club Resort was built when the construction permits didn't require resorts to be set back from the ocean as they are today. Amazing view of sunsets and breezes from our Hawaiian Trade winds cool you as you relax on the lanai which has an unobstructed view of the ocean..
Both whales (in winter) and dophins in the morning have been seen from the lanai. Single level first floor unit means no carrying things up and down stairs. The unit's parking spot is very close with no stairs allowing easy access.
This specific complex is built on prime land which was once a favorite vacation spot for the king and once housed the King's home and dance floor. You cannot beat this location. The condo has everything you need to enjoy your time in Kona. The shopping center right up the hill has everything to meet you basic needs. In the mornings I would breakfast on the lanai with my binoculars, I saw humpback whales, dolphins, mongoose, and lots of different birds.

We had a wonderful stay in the unit, thoroughly enjoying watching and listening the waves right outside our door from morning until night.

Beautiful grounds. Family friendly resort. Pool is clean and well maintained. Close to shopping center and restaurants. Short drive to Kona. Unit is very well stocked withand toiletries, kitchen items.

Communication with the host was good. There was a problem with the master bath shower drain which was remediated within a day.There were no spatulas (rubber scrapers) but various other utensils. Plenty of dishes, glassware, flatware and cups. The pots and pans need to be assessed and several taken out of use.The chaise lounge on lanai were great and we made good use of the table and chairs out there as well. The living room furniture needs upgrading. The sofa cushions all have large holes where the filling is visible. The sliding door coverings are broken in numerous connection points so they no longer can be slid on their tracks. The screen doors are warped and don't close completely.
