Sun King, and the included coach house Jester, combine to create one of Beachwalk’s largest properties, complete with 7 bedrooms and 6 full bathrooms. And, unlike many, Sun King is a true beach house—modeled after the Kennedy Compound in Nantucket—with a wrap-around screen porch, windows galore, and plenty of outdoor living. Unsurprisingly, it is one of the most well-loved houses in Beachwalk, with families returning year after year. One of the reasons for its huge popularity is that the owners annually reinvest much of the income derived from rentals into improving the property. This to go along with a newly upgraded kitchen that includes two full refrigerators and a commercial grade ice maker.
Sun King comes complete with the usual amazing Beachwalk amenities--swimming pool, tennis court, basketball court, beach volleyball, boardwalk leading to Lake Michigan's most beautiful beach, interior Lake Kai for kayaking, turtle-hunting, or relaxing, the custom sand castle park, kitty-corner waterfall park, next door to Central Park with summer concerts, and more! But unlike most homes, Sun King also includes a custom designed house golf cart for renter use, a large outdoor fire pit for marshmallow roasts and family bonding, a crib, a garage filled with beach and other toys, plenty of parking including one garage spot, an outdoor shower, and an incredible finished basement complete with a large television, ping pong table, and other assorted games. Sun King is gorgeous and in immaculate condition, with a wrap-around screened porch, hardwood floors, new kitchen counters and appliances, multi-level decks (several of which were recently replaced with new composite decking), and two dining room tables abutting each side of the open kitchen with seating for at least 20, including an enormous custom farmhouse dining table that itself comfortably seats 14. The farmhouse table sits below two end to end sea-shell chandeliers you will have to see to believe.
Sun King was designed with large groups or families in mind; you will have your pick of 7 separate and private bedrooms spread across four finished floors in the main home and a recently renovated and totally private guest house perched above the garage, with its own kitchen, dining table, flat screen television, and full bathroom. And, of course, there is plenty of space for large groups to gather and spend time together, including the massive open concept main floor centered around a fire place and large television, the seemingly endless wrap around porch complete with seating for a crowd, and a large deck with outdoor shower off the back of the house that meets up with the wrap around porch. If you are looking for a beach house to accommodate a large group or family, look no further--you won't find anything better.
(NOTE: From May-September, Beachwalk charges $5 for parking passes and $15 per guest weekly fee for use of the pool--this will be collected either by the resort staff upon arrival or you can pay in advance).

The house was the perfect size and location for a large family vacation. We loved the proximity to the pool & parks, and it was a quick & easy walk to the beach. However, the house needs a good deep cleaning and maintenance. The floors were filthy to the point we wore shoes at all times and the doors into the house all need repairs. They were incredibly difficult to open and close. We would have loved to enjoyed more time on the front porch, but it also needed repairs and cleaned. The large back patio was nice as well, but the outdoor trash cans smelled so bad it was impossible to sit near them. Overall, the house worked but we would not return to this property.

We stayed here 2 yo and found that this property has gone down hill.
Obvious that the owner has not done much to maintain. Exposed nails on rear deck and stairs. All nail heads are rusted. Carpets are beyond dirty. Front yard overgrown.
We're looking elsewhere at Beachwalk for next time.
