Stay at one of the most desirable 5 STAR RESORTS in Cabo San Lucas on the only safe swimmable part of Medano Beach....you cannot swim at certain locations of Medano beach like Villa Estancia. This is a big part of why we chose this location. This resort has all the ammenities 2 pools, 1 with swim up bar, the other with child's area and volley ball net. There is a fresh sushi bar, ice cream bar and Starbucks adjacent to one of the pools. An open bar adjacent to the other pool with big sceen TV's for those of you who want to catch a game while on vacation, along with a pool table. Fuse ball table and ping pong also next to one of the pools and a crafts table for kids as well. You can lounge or swim in pool while kids play ping pong, fuse ball, arts and crafts or indulge in ice cream. If your kids are younger there is a kids club where you can let them have fun while you have grown up time. Full service around the bar both drinks and food. An exercise room and spa services are also available. Daily maid service included.

The room was comfy, air conditioned, and clean. With the balcony doors closed, I couldn't hear the loud partying on the beach. The beach access was exceptional. The beach was clean and the water was clear and swimmable. The resort has a little roped off area on the beach so you can relax without being hassled by the people selling goods and pushing activities. The pools had plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for shade.
All the touristy stuff and restaurants in town are a quick 10-20 minute walk.
This resort is right in the middle of a very busy part of the beach. So there are some restaurants and bars right next door with loud partying going on. The noise level drops off at night around 9pm. So it's fine for sleeping.
The owner was very helpful with scheduling, finding me the right sized room, and communicating all the details.

I worked through Sharon to book two weeks over Christmas & New Years and couldn't have had a better experience. My wife, two children (13 & 11) and I had never been to Cabo. Sharon answered all of the questions we had and we couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. From booking the trip to the transportation when we arrived, the resort, amenities, beach, marina, etc. - everything was absolutely wonderful. We have already discussed potentially heading back for Spring Break this year - need I say more!

Where do I start?! From my initial email to Sharon inquiring about the property to the last text we exchanged upon my return home, everything was perfect!! Sharon provided me with every level of detail needed to make this perfect decision. Her responsiveness was nearly immediate! She provided insight as to the local scene including a full list of restaurants and things to do. Transportation options to/from the airport were also provided to us.
Casa Dorada is simply breath-taking! When we arrived we found it even more beautiful than the pictures showed. As soon as you get out of the shuttle, you are knocked out by the view from the front through the back of the property and that beautiful ocean!
Every member of the staff was SINCERELY there to ensure our stay was excellent!
The room was beautiful and every one of them has a balcony (or patio) facing the ocean. The pools are well maintained, as is the whole grounds area, and we never struggled to find a chair. Casa Dorada is big enough to have the amenities you need (multiple dining and drinking options, room service, towel service, concierge) yet small enough (6 floors high) that you don't wait for elevators or feel like you are in a herd of people.
Tip: DO let the bellman take you to your room. We didn't want to bother him since we just had 1 piece of luggage each, but then we had to call for help when we THOUGHT the electricity didn't work....it sure did, but you have to put one of your room keys in the slot on the wall to turn it on. A helpful maintenance guy helped us figure that out.
We spent most of our first days at the pool then later headed to the beach area. Swimming in the ocean is an option here because of the location! They have a lifeguard on duty to keep watch and help you in and out of the water if needed. The sand can be a challenge to walk in as it's deep and grainy (great natural loofa for your feet!).
The main city part of Cabo was a great opportunity to try various restaurants but certainly check into the ones Sharon suggests so you aren't just in the touristy part. We felt completely safe in Cabo and the taxi's (green vans) are plentiful and helpful and about a $7-10 ride to the resort. We really enjoyed being in the main shopping area on Sunday night and found out that Sunday night is a big family night. We enjoyed watching a kids entertainer host a free kids participation activity (with music). Great to see the locals!

Our stay at Casa Dorada was wonderful! Eight of us (4 adults and 4 young children) stayed in the two bedroom suite. It was a good amount of privacy for the two separate families, with a generous shared living space and functional kitchen, with dishes, coffee maker, pots and pans. We had access to the hotel services without any trouble - roll away twin bed, housekeeping service, etc. A couple little property issues were attended to quickly by the hotel - the sliding door in one of the bedrooms wasn't locking, but was fixed right away; bathtub draining slowly, and a need for extra bedding. The room was on the ground floor, which was perfect for us for a great view and grass/patios for the kids to play on. It was also steps away from the pool, so it was easy to run back for forgotten items. Even with the great location, we also had zero noise problems, which I had heard about at other resorts. The pools at were fantastic. We also took advantage of daily ice cream, the latte stand by the pool, pool bar and CasaKidz was a huge hit with our children! We did not end up doing any of the dining plans offered by the hotel, but enjoyed the sushi restaurant (that also serves to the pool), the breakfast buffet a couple mornings, and mostly ate dinner off the resort.
Prior to our trip, Sharon was very responsive to email and gave us lots of great tips on restaurants, airport transportation, etc. I would definitely book the same spot on my next trip to Cabo!
