About this cabin rental
Enjoy the spectacular views of the beautiful Tusquittee Valley to and from this family-friendly retreat that is secluded, but not remote. It’s easy to find, but really hard to leave.
The comfortably furnished single-story cabin is easily accessed up gradual rise on a graded gravel road (no scary mountain climbs!). The great room with gas log fireplace is cozy enough for two, yet spacious enough to accommodate family gatherings.
Guests RAVE about our incredibly well-equipped designer kitchen. There are two bedrooms furnished with queen beds , each with their own bathrooms, plus a bunkroom with twin beds adjacent to one of the bedrooms. 100% cotton sheets and towels, attached 2-car garage, central heat/AC, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, phone, DVDs, board games and puzzles are among the amenities galore.
Kick back and relax on one of two porches, enjoy s’mores on the firepit, nap in the hammock, play in the creek, float in the pond or get out and explore! Easy walking to moderately strenuous hiking is just outside the door on lovely wooded private roads and foot trails to NC and National Forest Lands. Many local/regional activities, attractions and events await!
Fish Compass Creek, nearby renowned Tusquittee Creek or canoe the nearby Hiawassee River. A great grocery store, golf courses and popular Lake Chatuge with beach-front picnic areas, playground and boat launches (rentals available) are just minutes away.
Clay County is a great base camp for a variety of memorable day trips: Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Joyce Kilmer National Forest, The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, rafting the Nantahalla, the Smoky Mountain Scenic Railway, etc. Tourist meccas Helen, GA, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN and Cherokee Casinos are all within a 1-2 hour drive.
Bikers love the scenic and well-maintained roads of Clay County and the famed 'Tail of the Dragon' is just an hour away. (The property has plenty of room for your toy trailer). Mountain bikers will enjoy the nearby Jackrabbit Mountain trails that offer a variety of trails of varying challenge levels.

THIS property feels anything but a "rental" It is--no exaggeration--THE most well-appointed, cared-for VRBO I have ever had the fortune to visit. The owners clearly have invested themselves in every inch of this lovely haven. The creek and pond are glorious--esp as experienced from the enclosed porch or hammock or swinging chair, or fire pit--and provide a haven not just for the occupant/s, but for all manner of critters including the kingfishers helping themelves to fish in the pond, deer and a plethora of hummingbirds. The sound of the creek is ever-present--soothing and so perfect next to the stillness of the pond. And with no light pollution, the night sky, too, is awe-inspiring. The home itself is outfitted with everything one could need or hope for -- from comfy furniture, cozy blankets and Direct TV (w/powerful WIFI); to a fully stocked kitchen; to yoga mats and hummingbird nectar and more. The only reason I'm willing to leave is that then I can come back. And fully intend to do so.

This cabin was completley stocked, it was all we could ask for, for an 8 day stay. The serene sound of the creek all night almost forces you to relax and take the tranquil sounds and atmospher in.lake chatue is within 9 miles for family fishing, motor cycle routes are with in 80 moles and unbelievably challenging. This was one of our most memorable stays.

Beautiful and peaceful spot. The boys really enjoyed swimming in the pond and plaring in the stream.

The cabin was perfect. Steps leading to pond or creek. Chilly nights, great fire pit enjoyment!We brought plenty of food which helped, there are limited grocery stores and restaurants but it was perfect
