We love this mid century home from the 1950's formerly known as Canty's Cottage. Vintage, yet freshly painted and redecorated.
Cantaloupe Cottage is a classic Mid Century Modern island home built in the 1950’s and completely restored with Central AC and all modern updates, this ground level, pet-friendly home features a large fully fenced back and side yards with views of the Back River! Which means the Back River beach and fishing pier is just a minute away! AND only 1.5 blocks to Alley 3- the local Kayak launch area.
With 3 bedrooms and 1.25 bathrooms (one full bathroom with a tub/shower combo and one shower-only room), plus a Florida room and an amazing kitchen, this home is a little charmer!

This house was perfect for us. The fenced in yard was a huge plus as we were traveling with pets. They were able to burn off some energy in the yard. The house was exactly as the pictures showed and how the listing was described. The location was good too. Walking distance to the beaches and main downtown area. We also took advantage of the short drive to Savannah for some tours and food. This house was a great home away from home and we’d recommend it to anyone traveling with kids and pets. Thanks!

We have rented from Mermaids many times, but this was our first time staying at Cantaloupe Cottage. We absolutely loved it. We have never stayed near the back river before and wanted to try it. We will definitely be back. The house was perfect for us and our 4-legged babies. We will be back!

We had an excellent stay and Tammy at Mermaid Rentals was wonderful! She could not have been more helpful- sharing community activities during our stay, making recommendations and even extending our stay! We would definitely rent from the company again! The house was very quaint and convenient! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
