Our charming cottage has been in our family for years. We affectionately refer to it as "The Tea Room Cottage" as it was a place where lunch and afternoon tea was served.

Located in Douglas, Michigan this cottage is a relaxing family and girls getaway, and/or a week at a beach vacation cottage. It has 5 bedrooms that sleep 7 to 9 people comfortably but ONLY 7 adults. It is available to rent during the summer months, Memorial Day through mid October. We have a shared private beach access across the street and down a path to Lake Michigan. This was everything I was looking for! A cozy cottage VERY close to the beach and close to town. There were lots of places to hang out, cozy couches in the living room, a nice breeze on the side porch, a back deck and many games and dinners were had in the dining room. The kitchen is fully stocked and there’s a charcoal grill. The beds are squeaky but they’re comfortable. The location couldn’t be more perfect. The private beach is practically across the street down a little trail and the sand and water were beautiful. If you prefer to use stairs to get down to the water Douglas beach is also a very short walk. The whole neighborhood is beautiful and perfect for morning and sunset walks. Downtown saugatuck is just a few minutes away. It was the perfect family vacation.

This is a nice property with features that make you feel like you've stepped back in time, with modern conveniences. Owner was very responsive, especially when a city-wide power outage greeted us upon arrival. The lake is beautiful as is the private beach, but just know the hill coming back up is steep to walk to the street. I would definitely stay here again.

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay here very much! The house was close to the beaches we wanted to visit and downtown saugatuck. The property has a spacious backyard with fire pit. There were plenty of bedrooms to pick from.

I have stayed in 2 other homes on Lake Shore Drive, spanning 30 years. This cottage reminded me of the others - perfectly vintage. Loved the “duck” sign to get to the kitchen under the stairs! (There are two other entrances). The bathrooms worked great. The kitchen is big enough to maneuver in. Not hugely stocked so bring your own stuff if you’re picky. You have to appreciate the charm of this type of cottage. The rooms have thin walls and you can hear everything but that makes it more like adult camp! Location is perfect! Great beach access. Will stay again for at least a week. Thanks so much!!
