About this house rental

Minerva's Rest is a beautiful, luxurious, Victorian Era house in the unique town of Bisbee, Arizona. Built in 1905, the house features two bedrooms, a complete kitchen, one bathroom and a large open floor plan (and no cleaning fee). There are beautiful Brazilian Koa hardwood floors throughout the house, and each room has its own high efficiency wall mounted heating/cooling unit. The house is tastefully decorated with the work of our many local artists. Minerva's Rest also features beautiful outdoor spaces, off street covered parking, an EV charger, and none of Old Bisbee's famous stairs. A keyless entry lock allows guests a convenient self-check in. And, we offer discounts to active military, veterans, first responders, and law enforcement!

Relax in the large open living room with beautiful overhead chandeliers, an electric fireplace, and plenty of seating. A 50” TV with cable, DVD player, and Wi-Fi with internet access are all provided.

There are two large and comfortable bedrooms. The front bedroom exudes the home's original 1905 character with a beautiful tin ceiling, a large bay window, and restored period furnishings. French doors invite you to enjoy the large back bedroom with a Tempur-Pedic adjustable bed and a 32" TV with cable. There is plenty of light from three windows and a skylight, and beautiful custom crafted closet doors. And for those chilly nights, or when you’re just in the mood, both bedrooms have their own electric fireplace!

The large chef kitchen has everything you need for a leisurely breakfast or a full gourmet meal, and makes the home ideal for long term stays! All the appliances you need – oven, gas range top, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer, coffee makers, blender, toaster, as well as dishware and utensils and more are provided. The dining room table can seat five. And, there is a complete and well stocked coffee bar with K-Cup maker, a drip coffee maker, and a French Press.

The spacious bathroom features a beautiful walk-in shower, a sky light, a separate make up vanity, and a custom one of a kind hand painted claw foot tub. A full set of towels and washcloths, as well as bath products are provided.

The front porch has a small table and chair set for you to watch Bisbee stroll by. For more seclusion the back yard offers a quiet grotto feel featuring a large deck, a flagstone patio, a gas grill, and complete outdoor seating. Enjoy the cool evenings on the flagstones around a firepit!

For those with an Electric Vehicle (EV), there is an EV Charger on site and available for your use. The charger is a Grizzl-E Level 2 EV Charger. It operates at 40 amps, and has a 24 foot long power cable with a J1772 plug.

It’s a short walk to High Desert Market, Screaming Banshee Pizza, Contessa's Cantina and the Copper Man statue, the start of the annual Bisbee 1000 Stair Climb. Walk a short bit further to more shops, eateries, galleries and pubs in Old Bisbee’s commercial district. Travel the area and enjoy the beautiful mountains and amazing climate at a mile-high elevation. Birding, hiking, and exploring all await you in the beautiful Sonoran high desert. Your hosts are your concierge!

This Bisbee stay is the kind of place that quietly wins you over the moment you walk in. The home is bright, spacious, and beautifully put together, with warm wood floors that practically glow and give the whole space a welcoming, lived-in elegance. The kitchen is a standout—modern, spotless, and fully equipped, with plenty of room to cook, snack, or just gather and talk. It felt more like a real home than a rental, which made settling in effortless. The living area is equally inviting, with comfortable seating, great natural light, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind after a day exploring Bisbee’s hills. One of the most memorable touches is the bathroom with its gorgeous clawfoot tub—perfect for slowing things down and soaking the day away. It adds a unique, almost boutique feel that you don’t always find in vacation rentals.Outside, the patio area with the fire feature is a whole vibe. It’s an ideal spot to sit back in the evening, enjoy a drink, and take in the peaceful surroundings.Everything felt clean, well cared for, and thoughtfully designed. This place strikes a perfect balance between comfort and character, making it a great home base for a Bisbee getaway. Would absolutely stay here again.

I had read every single one of the five star reviews for Minerva’s Rest, so expectations were high, but we were still absolutely blown away by everything about the house! The comments about the luxurious amenities provided; the beauty, comfort and tranquility of the house; and the responsive communication from the hosts — all true, and all understatements.I often glean additional information from reviews about a property. So, here a few things I don't remember seeing mentioned by others. My very favorite — a profusion of colorful potted flowers turning the back deck into a garden oasis of blooms complete with a bubbling fountain. A wonderful complement to the indoor beauty of the house and its furnishings. Also appreciated — the thick book with thorough yet concise explanations of every aspect of the house (locations of items; directions for appliances, electronics, remotes, indoor and outdoor fireplaces; etc.) in separate sections with a table of contents to easily find answers to any question. Two small cards on the dining table served as “Quick Start” guides for immediate orientation to the house.A small item — each bedroom had a small wooden cube at the bedside with four electrical outlets on top for plugging in CPAP or other devices, and on the front, four USB-A’s for charging phones, etc.We had a thoroughly wonderful stay at this amazing property. Now we will not be completely satisfied with any other vacation rental! Eva and Dave have simply set the bar too high!

This restored and artfully decorated historic home is a real gem in the heart of Bisbee. We were impressed by the amazing attention to detail in every room as well as in the outdoor areas. The hosts are wonderful and were available to answer questions and checked on us daily. We learned a great deal about Bisbee from the many books and local art provided for us. The kitchen is well stocked and is very modern. A beautiful oasis in a fascinating town!

Every aspect of our stay at Minerva's Rest was fantastic thanks to the high standard of all details. I feel like my 5.0 rating is inadequate due to the comfort, style, functionality that is above and beyond any other Vrbo we have stayed at. Thank you and we can't wait to visit Bisbee again.
