About this cabin rental
NEW gorgeous open floor plan barn cabin for rent. Beautiful Kickapoo Valley location with excellent fishing and wildlife right outside your door. A quiet place to relax yet close to many activities for the whole family. Bike Trails, Kickapoo River Canoeing & Kayaking. Spring brings the ephemerals. Wildflowers push their way through the leaves on the forest floor, and with them, the delicacies of spring—morel mushrooms, fiddlehead ferns, and ramps. Hundreds of bird species begin their migration up the Mississippi Flyway and through contiguous forests. Trout fishing begins and turkey hunters prowl the woods.
The Driftless Area is known for its trout streams. Class I streams like Timber Coulee that flows from Westby through Coon Valley towards Chaseburg, or the West Fork of the Kickapoo River, flowing through Bloomingdale and Avalanche, have the type of high quality waters to sustain natural populations of brook and brown trout.
Road Touring
A favorite activity of both visitors and residents is a leisurely drive through the countryside, along roads that wind through farmsteads, natural areas, and small towns. Whether the lacy green of early spring, the greens and golds of summer, the riot of fall colors, or the still white of winter, the colors and hues of the landscape are definitely worth the trip and you will always remember your Wisconsin road tours in the Driftless area.

We loved the Honey House! What an awesome home for a long weekend or extended trip. My cousin and I needed a girl’s trip and this was the perfect spot. It’s clear Rick and Janie put a lot of thought into the layout of the space. Super user-friendly with everything you need. We enjoyed sitting on the porch for bird-watching in the morning, watching the sun move across the land, and waving to the horse-and-buggies that passed by. We saw a handful of eagles flying by in the morning and evening. It’s a short drive into Viroqua or Westby if you’re looking to go out for food, shopping or music.My cousin accidentally locked us out right before checkout and Rick popped by a few minutes after we reached out to let us back in to grab the last of our things, so nice! Thank you!

Relaxing getaway. Clean. All the utensils and appliances I needed. New washer/dryer. Two outdoor fire options which I loved. Very nice hosts and quick response time on emails. Will go back.

Absolutely beautiful property and home! We toured the countryside and the fall colors were gorgeous...even in the rain. The cottage beautifully decorated and that gives you a homey vibe. My favorite thing about this place was the egg incubator that they repurposed into a kitchen island!! LOVE IT! We would stay here again and will recommend to family and friends. Actually, after I bragged about the place on Facebook some friends told me they had stayed there previous to our stay and loved it too. Thank you Rick for sharing your property with us!Jim and Luanne

It doesn't get any better than The Honey Barn. The property is kept - up impeccably and the setting along the West Fork of The Kickapoo River is gorgeous.
