About this cottage rental
The Riverhouse - an all season rental is a small shingled cottage located along the Penobscot River. Completely renovated in 1987, the cottage affords our guests views of the river and bay. A walk through fields and adjoining shore path leads you to a secluded beach where you can fish, sunbathe, swim or walk. Located along Maine's mid coast region, it provides a perfect 'place of port' for day excursions. The many antiques shops and fine restaurants in the neighboring towns provide the visitor with many avenues of enjoyment. Or, you may choose to relax, read or just take a nap in the afternoon sun on the deck surrounded by lawns, fields and gardens. Whatever you choose, a visit to this property will assuredly be a memborable one. The Riverhouse caters to those visitors who are accustomed to the conveniences of today's requirements in an atmosphere of history, comfort and grace.

The Riverhouse was quaint and rustic and had all we needed for our stay in coastal Maine. Dan was a great host, greeting us with helpful information upon arrival and checking in once during our stay to make sure all was well. The location is beautiful overlooking the river. Sunset was marvelous.

We had a great stay and can’t say enough about our host, Dan. He truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome from the start. He checked in on us throughout the trip, recommended some excellent local restaurants, and even took the time to research fishing spots for my son, which meant a lot to us. The house was cute and just perfect for our stay. That level of care and attention really made our trip special. Thanks again, Dan, we really appreciate everything you did!

A perfect spot to relax. It is an hour away from Bar Harbor traffic. We enjoyed the river view and having an entire house to ourselves. Just what we were looking for.
