A breathtaking property located high in the jungle canopy, complete with three swimming pools, an outdoor billiards table, a home gym, and a swim-up bar, as well as a crazy kids' room that's only accessible through a super-secret entrance in the wall, this villa is the stuff of legends.
Far more than your typical luxury vacation rental, The Jade House is a full-on life experience. It's the kind of place you visit with friends and family, and a decade later you're still talking and laughing about the trip. The memories, photos, and good times never really leave you. The location is 10 minutes up a mountain road between the towns of Dominical and Uvita which is ideal for anyone taking a tropical vacation. From thrill-seekers to those eager to soak up the Central American sunshine without lifting a finger. There are spellbinding beaches both to the north and south of the villa; a multitude of outdoor adventure tours nearby; wildlife galore around the property; 5-star dining restaurants dotting the coastline; and plenty of fresh fruit stands, souvenir shops, and beach bars to keep everyone busy for the entire trip.

The total capacity at the villa is 19 guests.
Caretakers who live onsite and do a light cleaning 6 days per week.

4x4 vehicles are required to reach the property, with gated parking for 6 cars.
There are 3 swimming pools (1 with a swim-up bar), as well as a pool for lounging in the water.
There is one pool that can be heated at 95 °F during your stay at an additional cost of USD 400.00 for stays up to 10 days. If this is required please ask before your booking confirmation.
Every bedroom has an air-conditioning unit.
Each bathroom features dual shower heads.
Located downstairs, the secret kids' room has 3 single bunk beds, twin mattresses (7 beds total) a television, and a full bathroom with a large shower.
There's also a big bedroom downstairs (Garden Suite) with a king bed, television, en-suite bathroom that looks at the rainforest, and a walk-in closet.
On the ground level, the primary bedroom (Harmony Room) features a king bed, en-suite bathroom, television, soaking tub, and direct access to the outdoor lounge pool.
There is a second bedroom on the ground level (Tropics room) with 2 single mattresses that can form a king bed. This bedroom also has access to its own bathroom and shower.
Moving to the top level of the villa, there are 3 more elegant bedrooms, all with king beds, en-suite bathrooms, and direct access to a gorgeous wrap-around deck with sensational views of the Pacific Ocean, Cano Island, and the famous Whale's Tail reef in Uvita.
A new workout gym has been added near the parking area.
Further amenities include indoor and outdoor dining spaces; a living room with multiple seating options and a flat-screen smart television with Netflix, Roku, etc accounts you can sign into; an outdoor bathroom and shower; a big ole' BBQ; an outdoor cooking wok; the aforementioned pool table; hammocks and lounge chairs; 1 huge ice machine; a dishwasher; as well as washer and dryer units for clients.
As mentioned, The Jade House is fully equipped to comfortably handle large groups of family and friends. The one thing it isn't, however, is a party palace. We ask all guests to abide by the rules of the property when visiting.
From the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose (SJO) it takes approximately 3 ½ hours to drive to the villa. The majority of our clients rent 4x4 vehicles and head south from the airport, but shuttle options are available as well. If you do decide to utilize the shuttle service, please keep in mind that you'll need to switch to 4x4 rental cars or taxis before navigating the mountain road up to the property. A third option is to fly into San Jose and then take a 20-minute commuter flight into Quepos, which is a half-hour north of Dominical town.
Top outdoor activities in the vicinity include surfing, kayaking, hiking, zip-lining, parasailing, river rafting, snorkeling, horseback rides, and inshore and offshore fishing trips. Fly fishing tours are also becoming popular along the Savegre River.
And, of course, there is the area's diverse wildlife, which will completely blow your mind. It's common to spot white-faced and howler monkeys at the property. If you're lucky, you'll set your sights on a sloth, too. Scarlet macaws, toucans, and parrots regularly navigate the jungle canopy nearby, while blue morpho butterflies love to say hello during those morning cups of coffee taken on the balcony overlooking the sea.
There are also supermarkets, banks, and pharmacies within a 20-minute drive of The Jade House. this place is nothing short of spectacular and pictures simply don’t do it justice. from the moment we arrived, we were awestruck with the incredible beautiful views! it was spacious for our extended family of 15! the beds were extremely comfortable and having a caretaker on sight was extremely helpful. (especially parking with the steep driveway). Carolina was so sweet and an extra special treat to have her housekeeping services available! this was truly a trip of a lifetime and i was more than happy to stay and enjoy the luxurious surroundings!

I’ve done a lot of traveling and stayed in many homes. The Jade House is by far the most incredible vacation and home I’ve experienced yet. We had 12 adults celebrating 2 milestone birthdays and we will remember this forever!The views, the pools, the sounds, the comfort- stellar! We watched whales, we had massages on the pool deck, naps on the hammocks, saw the most gorgeous sunsets and played billiards outdoors. It was something for everyone. Jonathan the host was impeccable and responsive to all our needs, not to mention setting us up with the very best experiences in Costa Rica too. 5 bedrooms with views and en-suite baths were amazing. The 6th room (2 twins- Tropics room converted to King bed) was extremely comfortable yet no views, and while not en suite, the bathroom had an open air, yet private shower that was gorgeous. I can’t say enough about everything this property has to offer- can’t wait to return to paradise one day!

The house was perfect! We traveled with our two kids who were 1 and 3, and the 3 year old LOVED the kids room! The only negative about that was it was so far from everything else and since he is younger we couldn’t leave him down there by himself. It was an awesome room and had a play kitchen, which he loved! The pools and views were amazing. We saw howlers, 2 sloths (one was a mama and a baby), tons of parrots and toucans. It was fun to watch for wildlife from the pools and patio. We had a couple of private chefs cook for us during our stay, and Chef Roy was phenomenal. He grew up in CR, is easy to talk to, provided a very nice experience and wonderful meals. Highly recommend using him if you stay! The gentleman who stayed on property and his wife were so sweet and incredibly helpful. Unfortunately, upon our arrival on Friday evening, the fridge was not very cold. We bought a few hundred dollars worth of groceries on the way in and hoped it would be cooler in the morning, but it was hotter! :( Having 2 little ones, one being a baby, it was really important to have certain things for them and milk needs to remain cold. We moved what we could save to the bar fridge and put whatever didn’t fit in coolers. Then the ice machine stopped producing ice, so we couldn’t keep coolers filled with ice. Repairmen came Monday to fix the fridge, and it cooled things off, but by Tuesday morning, everything was frozen! Milk, eggs, yogurt, everything! So they came back Tuesday but things were still frozen Wednesday. We left Thursday morning. We ended up losing a ton of food that we could never use because of the issues with the main refrigerator. We had to spend more money to eat out since we couldn’t use what we bought. It was beyond frustrating. I waited several weeks to review this place because property management was going to check with the owners about refunding part of our trip. I’ve not heard anything, which is incredibly disappointing because you would hope they’d want to make it right and encourage their visitors to stay again. We love CR, and this was our third time to the country. We WILL go again, and we would have loved to stay here again because the house itself is fantastic. However, after our experience and the lack of effort to try to make things right once we left, we will probably stay elsewhere.
