Snowshoeing is five miles. Year-round skiing at nearby Timberline Lodge, summer training for the US Olympic Team. Snowmobiling and Kid friendly ( the gate to the river can be locked) with one bedroom on the main floor, it's perfect to bring grandma and grandpa along.

The place is as described and fit a large group perfectly. The outdoor area is great for hanging out and Chris couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The hot tub was having a minor issue and he drove over an hour to fix it! Wonderful stay and highly recommend. The wifi is not great and there is very little cell service, but that should not detract from your stay. Just account for that and enjoy the peace and quiet!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home right on the river. There was plenty of space for our group of 7 around the dining table, in the living room, and on the deck. We enjoyed the hot tub, explored, the river, found some nearby trails, and enjoyed the comfortable beds and peaceful atmosphere. There was a minor issue with the disposal, but the owner was easy to reach and had the situation fixed within a matter of hours. Our whole family just raved about this house and we would come again in a heart beat. The sound of the river was so relaxing. Just a great house in a great location!

This house was perfect for a landing pass for my entire family who flew in for a visit. My parents, siblings and their children all fit comfortably thanks to the bedroom set up here, and everyone loved the porch and river views. Fun was had by all! We cooked almost every meal at the house and the kitchen was well equipped for this. Overall the house was clean and tidy, but the house could benefit from a bit of quick handy work to fix a few of the towel hooks that were broken (master bath for example).

We stayed over 4th of July weekend and got to enjoy the community parade which was fun. We really enjoyed having river access to cool off and the views were beautiful (although no view of the mountain). We loved the big table for meals and games. Overall the place was great for a long weekend with 10 adults and 4 kids.

Absolutely gorgeous property. We used this weekend to reconnect with each other. We had a wonderful stay. The huge table was perfect for board games. The kitchen had everything we needed. The hot tub was a lot of fun. We enjoyed the trails along the river. The weather wasn't our friend this weekend, but we'd love to come back and enjoy the river when it's warmer. Our only thing we struggled with was the Wi-Fi. It constantly dropped so we were unable to stream any movies or karaoke songs from YouTube. That being said it didn't stop our fun. Also the carpet in this house is the softest carpet I've ever had under my toes. Thank you again for giving us a safe space to hang with our friends.

We exchanged vows on the deck overlooking the Sandy River. It was a magical experience! And Kathy was amazing in making or even more special with the lilacs to brighten our day!

Our stay was nice and peaceful. We had trouble with the hot tub( since it wasn’t full and had trouble heating with water). The hosts were super responsive and helpful. The gas barbecue didn’t have gas, so had to replace that too. Would recommend changing the nonstick pans provided.in the kitchen.

Our second visit to Sandy River Lodge was just as wonderful as first stay. We had our whole family of 5 sons with families staying there and in neighborhood. We gathered together every evening for dinner. It was so special having the family all together and cooking in the well appointed kitchen was a breeze. With card tables we could fit everyone. This was our first time staying at this home and we are definitely interested in coming back! The beautiful back deck overlooking the river is reason enough! The staired pathway down to the river front made for a perfect happy hour spot too!The room and bed situation worked perfectly for a large group where everyone could sleep comfortably.The large dining table worked excellent for our group of eleven moms to be able to play games and enjoy meals together.The house was equipped with everything we needed to have a relaxing weekend away.The owners were amazing at responding quickly to any questions we might have and sharing ideas of activities for us to do to enjoy our weekend.

Property was great for three families with young kids. Clean and well appointed (including the kitchen), beautiful home with an even better view in a quiet neighborhood. Good communication with host and with maintenance person who came to check on us during the stay. Good location, just a few minutes up the mountain to get to sledding for the kids. Only two notes. First, the internet is criminally slow. 1mbps slow. Not a problem for us and an excuse to stay off of our phones, but be aware of it heading in. Second, the hottub was clean, but not ready. When we arrived it was only 60 degrees, and it’s a large tub so it takes basically a full day to heat up. Somewhat unavoidable if they needed to change the water between guests, and I’d rather have a clean tub for part of the stay than a dirty tub for all of it. Happy that it was clean, which is not always the case. Great stay and I would stay here again.

Our family of 8 (6 adults & 2 elementary age kids) stayed 6 days. We enjoyed this clean and extra comfortable cabin with it's amazing view of the Sandy River. The living area and fire place created a cozy space for family games and reading. The kitchen was well stocked for meals. The extra long dining room table was a delight for dining and games. Two ways to do coffee; whole bean option and a Keurig option. The owners thought of everything we needed and could want! We enjoyed the clean hot tub too, with it's million dollar river view!

This cozy cabin accommodated our big group perfectly! The hosts were also very responsive to our questions and the check in / check out process was seamless. The location was perfect for snowboarding and close by to a local market which had all the necessities if you forgot to pack some things.

We just got back after staying here for Thanksgiving. We had a large group of 14, several different families. We had a wonderful experience! The house was very well equipped, had just about everything we needed (I has read another review saying they wished there had been a few more baking sheets, so I brought 2 of mine from home) but just about everything we needed to serve Thanksgiving dinner was provided! The location is beyond perfect, we all loved sitting on the back porch or using the hot tub and enjoying the view. The house feels very private despite being in a neighborhood. There were tons of towels and extra blankets and our kiddos loved the bunk room (they found a lot of joy in learning about a VCR). The property has Dish but we would bring a streaming device if we stay here again (next Thanksgiving potentially?) to get access to some other options. As others have mentioned cell service is spotty and the wifi could not keep up with the size of our group but we all used it as an opportunity to disconnect, but it is good to know. The back deck was the star of the show and the access to the river and beach was so amazing. The only other downside was a few of the beds were on the firm side for our group. The carpet was so cushy and the appliances were new and worked great, you can tell they put the money into upgrades where people would really benefit. The host also generously let us check in a little early which was a perfect start to our Thanksgiving holiday!

If you are looking for a place close to Mt. Hood but not up at Government Camp, this place is a find. Great Space where we had 8 adults staying comfortably. Beautiful Views, two great grills, comfortable beds, and a clean and well maintained hot tub. The kitchen was well equipped for the most part (I would recommend that the owners get one more nonstick pan and a couple of cookie sheets.) The ONLY other suggestion would be to look at an alternative for internet service. The speed isn't fast enough for multiple people to use it without struggling, this would be especially true if you were to try to work a bit while away. We would absolutely stay again, the owners were amazing with communication. 10/10

We take an annual family trip to this general area of Mt. Hood each summer. There are 14 of us ranging from age 6-82! Out of all the houses we have stayed at over the years this one has been our favorite by far! There were so many activities to do within the neighborhood, and lots of hiking and other outings near by. The river was very accessible, even for the oldest in our group. The house was very clean and with a well stocked kitchen. We would definitely stay again!

My husband and I renewed our vows on Mt. Hood with our closest friends and their families, after getting married under Covid restrictions in 2021. We stayed in Chris' cabin with a big group that included eight adults and four young children/babies and fit very comfortably. The cabin was perfect in every way -- fully stocked with everything you could ever need, with spacious living and dining spaces, and a huge deck with an incredible view of the mountains and access to the Sandy River just below. The VHS machine and collection of old cassette tapes in the kids' bunk room was a great touch, as was the jacuzzi on the deck! Chris was such a kind and generous host who responded quickly and went out of his way to accommodate us. This home is truly perfect for a family vacation. I recommend it to everyone and am already planning the next group trip here!
