About this cabin rental

This beautiful, secluded cabin, dubbed the "Treehouse", is located on an elevated lot in the gated Centennial Shores community. It boasts expansive views of Island Park Reservoir, forested hills, historic Trude Ranch Property, and the majestic Centennial Mountains. You can enjoy this view from the cabin's wrap-around deck, crafted with unique old-growth cedar posts and railings. A short walk of about 5min, or a 1min drive from the Treehouse, will get you to a sandy beach area on the reservoir for fishing, swimming, and other water sports. Also available to you are 2 boat launching ramps with docks, and a large, grassy park to the east.

Inside this unique cabin you will immediately notice its beautiful craftsmanship and be welcomed by cedar tongue and groove ceilings, high log trusses and beams, a cozy great room with a gas fireplace, a 22 ft high window wall, and stair posts and railings of large old-growth cedar.

The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, including a 48" commercial-style gas cook-top, a large island, and beautiful granite countertops. The Treehouse contains 5 queen-sized, handcrafted, large log beds, with a hide-a-bed in the loft area. The Master Suite, located on the main floor, is carpeted and has an electric fireplace. The on-suite bath is tiled in natural stone, with an air tub and shower. French doors offer private access to the deck area. Visit Big Springs and Johnny Sacks cabin, or take a drive up Sawtelle Mountain, where the views are endless. Guided float trips, horseback riding, and golf are all just minutes from the cabin. Hiking is second to none here, with trailheads in the nearby State Parks, along Targhee Creek, Coffeepot, and many other nearby locations. Bring your own toys or rent from one of the locally owned businesses in Island Park. We suggest:

www.islandparkpolaris.com
www.highmountainadventures.com

We can provide links to the snowmobile trail map, grooming report, and winter rec info if requested.

Note to winter renters:
The cabin driveway is plowed out regularly in winter months, however in the event of a snowstorm during your stay, we suggest guests unload their equipment at the cabin and park trailers at the Kilgore-Yale and Old Shotgun Rd intersection. We also highly suggest that guests staying in the winter come up in a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Winter weather can be unpredictable in Island Park, and without 4-wheel drive, you may find yourself stuck until a snowplow can get back out to the area.

Also, a note to ATV/Snowmobile riders that recreational vehicles are required to be on the designated trails and never on personal property. The HOA at Centennial Shores will fine property owners if renters ride off trail or use un-built cabin lots as their riding destination. If a violation is reported, renters will be charged a $75 daily fine for each incidence.

Note to summer/fall rentals:
We are on a reservoir so water levels will start dipping in late July due to irrigation and current drought conditions. Usually this does not hinder water recreation such as boating, fishing, swimming, etc, but if you are concerned, please contact us to check the current water levels.

Also note, our cabin is not equipped with A/C. It is uncommon for properties in Island Park to have A/C, and it generally is not needed, even in the summer months.

This is a non-smoking, pet free cabin. We are also under a county ordinance for short term rentals and ask that our guests please stay in compliance for their safety and health; we ask that you stay within our occupancy limits, read the burn ordinances and please be neighborly.

Check in: 4:00pm - Check out: 11:00am
(Please contact owner if need early or late check-in or departure and we will do our best to accommodate your request).

HOUSE RULES/LIABILITY WAIVER: Our property provides you with a unique opportunity to swim, fish, participate in water sports, build a campfire, and relax in a hot tub. We want you to take advantage of these amenities and have a memorable visit. However, by agreeing to our House Rules, you acknowledge that there are inherent risks involved with participating in these activities and that lakes, water sports, stairs, campfires and hot tubbing may present dangers for adults and children. 6 family & friends had a perfect weeklong stay in late September at the cabin. The craftsmanship of every inch of the home is absolutely stunning and the highlight of the home. We loved waking up to views of the lake and seeing pronghorn bounding by at dusk. We spent every day in Yellowstone and were grateful to have a beautiful relaxing place to return to. Do note, if you're looking for convenience to Yellowstone's sights, stay in the park. We deliberately traded a longer drive time (45 mins each way outside the park gate) for a unique and comfortable home. The experience of the log cabin was well worth it to us.

Nice cabin in a quiet spot. The only drawback for us was the WiFi. Our daughter drove 6 hours to get there and planned to do her homework there since we were told we would have WiFi. It is very spotty and turns on and off ALL the time. She ended up having to leave after 1 day so she could get complete her homework. It was supposed to be a family vacation so we were sad about the WiFi not working well. The owners are very nice though.

We rented the Treehouse for a week in early July; there were 7 of us ranging in age from 12 to 75 years of age. We had never been to the area and wanted a centrally located home and the reviews for this home were incredible. The Treehouse was very clean and plenty of space for our family. The pictures for the inside of the cabin are very accurate and it is lovely. I have actually never written a review on a home before, but I feel like the accuracy of this listing needs updated. The pictures imply that the lake is very close to the home which is not the case; we had to drive the rafts and kayaks because it was too far to carry them. This is not a short walk if you forget something in the cabin. The cabin is not as close to everything as the listing implies. With traffic and the winding roads, Centennial Shores is a very secluded community that is not easy to get to. The last piece of information I think is not portrayed accurately is the lack of air conditioning in the cabin. I cannot find anywhere in the listing that it says there is no a/c. I actually had passed on other cabins because they did not have a/c. Needless to say it was very difficult to sleep at night as it was hot and the beds are directly in front of the windows you have to open to get air in. Couple that with the plastic wrap in lieu of mattress pads on the upstairs beds and the sleeping arrangements left a lot to be desired. The Treehouse is a lovely home and probably perfect for some families, but I feel like the accuracy of the listing needs updated.
