About this house rental
Enjoy a great vacation home on the north end of Longboat Key near Longboat Pass. This home is set on a lovely bayou and across from the best beach on the island. This wonderfully decorated three-story home features updated furniture and tropical decor throughout with two garages and a screened in pool on the first level.
Upstairs, on the main living level, you will enjoy an open floor plan with a bright kitchen and breakfast bar for six plus a dining area and living room. Both guest bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths are located on this floor as well.
Access the master bedroom suite (third level) via a spiral staircase or elevator and there you will find a spacious master bedroom with it's own bath including garden tub, walk in shower and two lavatories. Walk outside to a private sunning deck under a pergola.
Enjoy a short stroll to the white sandy beach or swim in your own private pool in the screened in lanai area. The colorful sunsets off of your balcony or at the beach are absolutely breathtaking! You will find an abundance of wildlife throughout the area including birds, dolphins and manatees.
Longboat Key is on the West Coast of Florida, near Sarasota and one hour south of Tampa. Sought-after Longboat Key has some of the most unspoiled beaches in the area. Our access is only a short walk away (5 minutes) from our home where you have the feeling that you have your own private beach.
Longboat Key boasts some of the wealthiest residents, and finest restaurants in the Sarasota area. From this home, it's a matter of minutes to St. Armand's Circle, a shopping paradise. Longboat Key is a ten-mile long barrier island attached at each end by a bridge to the mainland. If you would like to go to theme parks - we are one hour from Busch Gardens of Tampa Bay or two and a half hours from Disney and Universal Studios. Galleries, museums, and live theater are within a 25 minute drive.

If I was going to pick just one place that's perfect for me in Florida, this would be it. I like quiet, nature and the beach. I loved sitting on the small bench down by the canal. I was having shoulder problems, but the rest of my family used them almost daily.
My daughter and I daily walked the short distance to the beach to watch the sunset. Spectacular!
I will be back.

Thanks for a wonderful stay. House is exactly as advertised; quite frankly, it was even better than advertised! We loved everything it.
Located at the very northern tip of Longboat Key, it is very quiet and private. Heading north, it is just before the drawbridge leading over to Bradenton Beach (which is very congested and busy, but does have the advantages of restaurants and stores). So we found we would more typically head south towards St Armands which is a much prettier enjoyable 15- 20 minute drive. The property itself though is very private and features and great dock on the narrow inlet. Wonderfully quite back there and great place to read or fish. The two included single person kayaks were a surprising highlight for us. A few minute paddle up the inlet and you are right into the bay where you can head over to the sandbars to hang out or let the dog (who also loved the kayak!) play in the shallow water that stretches very far out.
The house was very clean and had no smells at all (which is always an turnoff for us). It was equipped with everything we could have needed including the fully stocked kitchen, bath and beach towels, beach chairs, games, books, great wi-fi connection. We had only one tiny issue that I needed to call the house property manager about, and she was very friendly and helpful.
This was our first house rental and we were a little nervous about the experience versus a hotel (would it be as advertised, clean, comfortable, appropriate, worth it, etc.???) and this vacation and experience has made me us converts! Cant wait to come back to Longboat Key, and will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Beach House. The home was well-appointed as well as comfortable. The kitchen had every appliance one could need. The pool was an added plus. With the beautiful large beach a comfortable couple blocks away, we spent many hours walking, collecting shells, and enjoying very few other people compared to other local beaches. Also the elevator was very handy with moving in the suitcases. We also enjoyed the many restaurants on Longboat Key as well as Anna Marie Island just over the bridge. Thanks Ellen and Kevin for sharing your home and allowing our dog to be part of our vacation.
