About this house rental

We are celebrating 20 years with VRBO with five star ratings. A/C and Internet. Both lakefront homes are nextdoor to each other and receive a further discount VRBO.com/90352 and VRBO 183706 when renting both. We are located on Gerundegut Bay closest to the State Park Dodge Park #4 on Cass Lake - 1280 acres. Rent both for family and friends reunions. Enjoy the lake, swim off the swim dock equipped with ladder or grab a swim noodle and make a splash. Plenty of space for a game of Bocce and Bean bag toss then later have a bbq and bonfire. Also we have fishing poles to use and many have caught fish right off the boardwalk.
There are cleats for docking two boats in front of each lake home. Bring your boat or we can arrange a pontoon boat rental delivered to you and picked up for the length of your stay. Explore the largest inland all-sports lake in Southeastern Michigan 1280 acres of Cass Lake. Mansions and unique homes are all around this lake. Have your friends bring their boat, too. The launch is at the State Park, Dodge Park no. 4 located at the beginning of this bay. Later on watch a movie as there are Smart HDTV's in all the rooms. Have a friends/family vacation. kip

It was clean and very user friendly. The setting is absolutely amazing on the lake but with a no wake zone in front it is very peaceful. Kip and Ricca were very flexible and always responded very quickly. We were able to introduce our grand-daughter to all of our Michigan family!

The house is on a beautiful lake front lot, with lots of space and big trees! The beds are comfortable and the inside space is nice. You can fish and swim right out the back door! We watched fire works for the 4th of July off the dock and had a great time!

The home was lovely but had no hot water. Ricca ,thankfully, was able to move us to their other VRBO next door. Our stay at the other property worked out fine and had the same beautiful setting. Swans greeted us each morning.

The house was well stockedwith amenities. It is right off of the lake, but yet not too far from any stores/restaurants. The hosts were very helpful with boat rentals and were able to answer any questions we had. It is has a beautiful view if you are looking for a quiet getaway

We really enjoyed our stay here! The views and peacefulness were incredibly relaxing! We loved being tucked away on a quiet cul de sac, with the entrance to the larger part of the lake just around the corner. Departure clean up rules were quite reasonable. Highly recommend!

First—Ricca and Kip are the most wonderful owners. They are very responsive to your needs and just down right good people! The Cottage is adorable and sits on a peaceful canal the flows into Cass lake. We don’t have the loud boats, just quiet boats trolling by. The birds, swans and bunnies are fun to watch. It was 40 years since the last time I was boating on Cass Lake (I built a house and lived there ending 1983). I can't tell you how enjoyable my interaction with my host was (her history on the lake dates back to when I was there). ALSO: we got a pretty substantial discount on the new pontoon (party) boat that Ricca recommended... I'm a diehard boater. Will I stay there again? HELL YEAH!

We loved our time here on Cass Lake! The house was perfect for our family of 6. We enjoyed being on the bay where we could swim, float, fish and just enjoy the beauty of the water, but also be a quick boat ride to the fun activities of the lake. Kip and Ricca were outstanding hosts and responded quickly to all of our questions and made our stay here the best! We enjoyed the farmers market, state park and outlet mall and appreciated the convenience of groceries, bait shop and restaurants. We would highly recommend and would love to return! Kip and Ricca were fantastic hosts. They were attentive and responded quickly to any questions we had. The property was exactly what we were looking for. The house is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. It’s on a quiet, little road that is tucked away from the busy world but close enough to have whatever you want delivered. We spent plenty of time swimming, fishing, boating, and relaxing by the water. Our youngest did have to wear a life jacket to swim because the water is deep off the swimming dock. My kids had a lot of fun jumping off the dock into the water. My whole family loved this place. We will definitely stay again.

We rented these homes for our family trip to Michigan from Arizona. We hosted friends and family on separate days and rented a boat for a few of those days. We had a blast on the lake and the luck of perfect weather. Kip and Ricca were genuinely concerned with our stay and you could tell they really wanted us to enjoy it!

What a beautiful spot. Our family of 6 adults enjoyed our week stay at Cass lake. The dock area was perfect for my husband to fish, launch our kayaks, boat and float tubes. The water is very clear and great for kayaks and swimming off the dock. I would highly suggest renting a boat or kayaks to explore this beautiful and peaceful lake. The yard was fantastic to read and relax. There was plenty of room for all of us inside and out. Ricca and Kip were great hosts being available if needed.

Once again Sunset Cottage provided a wonderful vacation weekend on the water. My daughter and I enjoyed my dear friend and her eleven year old for a few days to reconnect, by the bay of Cass Lake. The house had a complete kitchen for meals, comfortable beds and plenty of games and movies. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking. Even during the rain we could look out the huge sliding doors and enjoy the view. Kip & Ricca are gracious hosts, making every effort to personalize our stay. We had a fun, long weekend!

Ricca was great from the start and seemed like she genuinely hoped we really enjoyed our vacation. She also helped us get a pontoon lined up for the week. The house was clean and had a great view of the backyard and lake. It was nice being in the no wake zone with the kids and the main lake and sandbars were a quick coast down the bay on the boat. Would definitely come back!!

Beautiful property. Clean, easy access. No better place on Cass lake as it is the quiet of the bay minutes away from the excitement of the main lake. Kipp and Ricca are amazing. Just wonderful. I can’t say enough about how hospital me and welcoming they were before and throughout our stay. Just kind people who were there to answer every question and help rent the boat, light the grille, whatever we needed. Can’t wait to go back!

Three couples in our 30s stayed here and had a great time. Ricca was very responsive and even coordinated for an early check-in since the group before us left really early the morning of. The pictures are accurate and the outdoor space is great. The outdoor games could use a tune-up (i.e. badminton set but no bird to hit; fishing poles but no hooks; bags set but seemed more geared toward kids) and beach towels would've been helpful, but both pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. Ricca was very responsive and when we noticed the dryer wasn't spinning, her husband Kip was over within a short period of time to take a look. Renting a boat was very easy and the price seemed very reasonable. The guy dropped it off at the dock and picked it up. Ricca suggested we book ahead of time and we're glad we did since they were all booked up for the weekend by the time we got there. Also rented SUPs from the same guy who gave them to us an extra day just because no one else rented them. Fire pit available and it's very peaceful and quiet at night. Overall we'd recommend and would stay again!
