About this house rental
Imagine yourself in one of the most peaceful, laidback towns in the Riviera Maya. Picture quiet beaches, perfect little beach restaurants, great snorkeling, and one of the best spots to meet a sea turtle or two. Picture a turquoise sea and gentle lagoons, swaying palm trees, soft white sand. Now picture yourself in your very own villa, ideal for sharing with family or friends. Can you see it? It is real and it can be reserved for you today: Villa Tao A-3 in the lovely village of Akumal, ideally located between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, and situated a mere 50 meters from the beach.
This lovely 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom villa features the clean, modern design of Actual Studios, as well as marble flooring throughout. The open living area provides maximum flow between the cozy living room and dining room, and the well-equipped kitchen. The living room features a leather sofa and two chairs, a 50” TV, SKY satellite, and WiFi connectivity. The fully-equipped kitchen offers stainless steel appliances and the granite counters offer plenty of workspace along with a breakfast bar adjacent to the dining room. Oversized sliding doors provide plenty of light as well as access to the garden terrace. A washer and dryer is provided, along with beach amenities such as towels and an umbrella.
The main floor bedroom features a queen-sized bed and en-suite bathroom. An additional upstairs queen-sized room has an en-suite bath and a small balcony which overlooks the garden. The upstairs master bedroom features a king-sized bed, 42” LCD television and small balcony as well as en-suite bath. All of the bathrooms feature marble showers, hair dryers and all basic toiletries.
The most outstanding features of the villa are its two beautiful roof terraces: one, an ocean-view space with a comfortable sofa, chairs and a maneuverable aluminum roof which can be open for sun or closed for shade. The other overlooks the garden area and includes two upholstered chairs with footstools and a table for two.
Our guests can enjoy the luxuries of the Jungle Fish beach club which is conveniently located only a few steps from your front door. The club has a pool (please inquire about pool hours as they may change seasonally), swim up bar, umbrellas, lounge chairs, restaurant and a roof terrace with additional seating and a magnificent ocean view. We suggest arriving early to reserve chairs and umbrellas as it is first come first serve. The facility use is free with food and beverage consumption. It is at the discretion of the beach club to any policy change or fees, as we have no direct affiliation.
And that's not all, you have access to the TAO Wellness Center that offers a gymnasium, exercise lap pools, yoga classes, etc. and Bahia Principe Resort facilities! Applicable fees do apply at both locations please inquire!
Akumal is a true paradise with plenty of retreat-like quiet when you need it and lots of activity when you crave it. Great restaurants, turtle watching, and superb snorkeling are only steps away. The location is perfect for day-trips into Tulum and Playa del Carmen; you are also very close to crystal clear cenotes, ancient Mayan ruins, quaint colonial towns and all that the fabulous Mayan Riviera has to offer.

My wife and I stayed here for a week with our two college-aged kids. This property is in a quiet, leafy neighborhood of villas and beach homes and is directly across the street from the Jungle Fish Beach Club. The house is very well maintained and incredibly well equipped, with beach chairs, water shoes, beach towels, a gas grill, a wide selection of food storage containers in the well equipped and stocked kitchen (including paper towels, detergent for the dishwasher and coffee filters), a large capacity washer and dryer, laundry detergent and fabric softener. The bathrooms were well stocked with tissue, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Just show up with clothes and you're set to go! We loved walking down to the end of the road each evening and then out onto the beach. The patio at the back of the house is very serene - we saw a monkey one night swinging from tree to tree! Tulum (which is overrun with tourists and traffic) is only 15-20 minutes away. Dos Ojos Cenote is less than 15 minutes away (a must see on a hot day). Snorkeling at Yal Ku (the second entrance - 20 pesos more per person, but well worth it) was fantastic, as were the Caba Ruins (so pleasantly shady), only 1 hour away. Our best meals out were in Akumal pueblo; restaurants on the beach and at the Jungle Fish Beach Club were also excellent, but 2-3 times more expensive. Last, Angela, the property manager, was incredibly responsive, always responding to my texts within minutes. An easy FIVE stars.

This condo was perfect for the three of us on a girls trip.
The condo was clean and had everything we needed. There was a closet with beach chairs, snorkel equipment, umbrellas, etc. There was also a basket under the TV that had sunscreen, insect repellant, aloe, and first aid items. There was shampoo, conditioner, and lotion in the bathrooms. It is located in a nice secluded neighborhood with a 24/7 security staff. Directly across the street from this unit is the Jungle Fish Beach Club. We ate dinner there every night. It was delicious and the staff was amazing! There were a few people in the neighborhood that live there several months out of the year, and they were all so nice and treated us like we were their neighbors. It is a nice location, between Playa del Carmen and Tulum. It is also a 20 minute walk down the beach to the beach town of Akumal where you swim with turtles and visit all the different restaurants and shops. It would be ideal to have a rental car at this location, but we didn't, so we took the collectivos to the places that we wanted to go. The management for this property was great to work with and were always prompt to reply to any messages. We only had two issues at the property. 1) The dehumidifier in the unit was so loud that I had to turn it off at night because it kept waking me up. 2) One night it rained really hard and water rushed in under the patio door into one of the upstairs bedrooms. But overall we had a great stay.

We enjoyed our stay even though we didn't spend much time in our condo with all of the activities we had going on related to the wedding. We loved the convenience to the Jungle Fish restaurant right across the street. We also enjoyed the rooftop covered patio and appreciated the ample supply of filtered water.
