About this house rental

Located on the majestic north shore of Kauai and just minutes away from some of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the world, Mauna Pua offers the luxury of a five star resort with the comforts and privacy of home. Style and elegance take center stage with panoramic views overlooking the lush green valley and azure blue Pacific.

This stunning, three-level home is designed to accommodate families or large groups with seven bedrooms. This home offers air conditioning in all the bedrooms & black out shades to keep you nice and cool during your stay!

The grand master suite is located in the main house nestled among the trees with an expansive, romantic lanai, en-suite bath, sitting area, TV and lovely ocean views. The lower level boasts a spacious living room with a media center. Large glass doors open up to a welcoming lanai for friends and family to gather for festive barbecues, or relaxing with a tropical cocktail.

The kitchen is a culinary artists’ delight with well appointed Kitchen Aid stainless steel appliances including a 6 burner gas stove, brand new refrigerator, large island and seated counter area. Serve up delicious island-inspired meals in the eight person dining area, with additional seating at the counter bar stools, if needed. Appliances have been recently upgraded!!

Three guest rooms and bathroom are located just down the hall—two with queen beds and one bunk room with a double and twin bed.

If more space is needed, the lower level offers a two bedroom, one bath suite with Queen bed and bunk bed (double +twin) in each bedroom, living area, TV (smart TV, no cable) and access to the outdoor gazebo with chaise lounge chairs for reading and relaxing. There’s even a separate garden suite with a private entrance, full size bath, kitchenette, TV, A/C, and full size bed.

Venture out on the Princeville bike bath with one of the accompanying three bikes and stroll down to the nearby St. Regis or Happy Talk Bar and Lounge for sunset pupus and refreshing beverage. Beach lovers will enjoy visiting one of the many popular nearby beaches including, Hideaways Beach, Anini, Kalihiwai and Hanalei Bay. Home is equipped with Spectrum gigabit internet, good internet for those that are working remotely.

The house was stocked with lots of extras, including everything you need for a day at the beach. The kitchen has everything we needed to cook for our big group. Having more than one washer/dryer was a nice surprise. The best part is the amazing view from the deck.

Absolutely loved the neighborhood and the location. The beaches were not crowded, and the snorkeling was great just a few feet off shore. The hot tub was a plus after each days activities and views from any window captures the beauty of of the north side of the Island.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The outside sliding door next to the dinning table was not functional, needs work. The coffee makers were not functional, was replaced by management but were too small. Overall very satisfied and handled our twelve people perfectly.

We would have rated this property a 5 star, but on the day of our travel to Kauai (from Chicago) we were informed that the main level air conditioning was inoperative. On the main level is 3 of the bedrooms and the main congregation area of the house. We were hoping for accommodations such as portable air conditioning units or extra fans, but unfortunately they were not provided. Although there were a couple of fans in the closet, one of the rooms was too warm at night that required the person staying in the room to relocate to the couch.We were also traveling with parents/grandparents who are in their mid 80s who do not navigate stairs very well. So it was a challenge for them to stay in the lower level which had air conditioning.Overall the house is in a beautiful location, lots of extras in the garage to take to the beach and bikes to ride as well.

Very spacious, comfortable, clean and well maintained to accomodate a large family providing privacy for all. We all loved the ocean and tropical views from the decking, patios, and from every room. Not to mention the ocean view from the deck, which also provided a barbeque that we so enjoyed, we basically spent most of our time there. Kitchen was spacious for our family since we all love to prepare meals together. Plenty of amenities provided to prepare meals. Large dining room table commodated our family meals as well.There were many supplies provided in the home. With plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas and towels to go enjoy a trip to the neighboring beaches. Beaches are close and we were able to take a hike to Turtle Cave, great experience. Very close drive to beautiful Hanalei Bay and several other nearby beaches. Not a far drive to the 4 excursions we had planned The location was perfect for us. Hiking trails are not far which we all enjoyed including the bike rides. Shopping and food locations are very close as well. Great experince for us all.Our Host, Tanya was amazing and very helpful when I needed information. Our house, while in a very quiet neihghborhood was isolated by all the lush greenery. We lived on the extended covered deck for viewing the ocean and a lot of family time. We walked the neighborhood when we were not exploring the neighborhood and were treated to seeing 3 baby albaotross chicks in their nests. All the rooms were spacious and the house was well stocked to accomodate comfort. The house added immensely to our trip, because it was such a good and comfortable fit for us and because Hawaiin Life was so wonderful to work with.

This could not have been a better situation for our large group of 14. Rarely does a rental home comfortably sleep the number of guests that its listing specifies, but this was a lovely exception that trend. Seven discreet bedrooms meant privacy for all, and the space itself was amazing. The home is in the middle of a residential neighborhood with full time residents, so it is definitely not a party house if that’s what you’re looking for. But once inside, the jungle / canyon surrounding it on three sides makes it feel very isolated and the ocean view was amazing. A++++

Our family, 5 adults, 3 teenagers and 1 child recently stayed at this perfect home. The house was very clean and in a very good location. There was more than enough room for all of us. We didn't use the Garden Suite as it wasn't needed. Communication with property manager was very helpful.

My family of 13 came to Kauai to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary. From the moment we first pulled into the driveway and opened the front door until we locked up for the last time, we had a magical stay at this property. The home is well appointed and appropriately decorated. There were many supplies already in the house. Lots of beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, and beach towels for our trips to the beach. Tanya, our island host, was very responsive and helpful. We highly recommend this property to any large family or group. We had a fabulous stay.

Lovely house tho we didn’t realize there was no ac in the upstairs living area. Hard to cool it even with fans. The screen doors going to the upper deck need repair, but the views and quiet were heaven. We enjoyed looking at the stars in the hot tub.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The only great thing about Kauai was the House. Grandson shared stomach virus with the rest of us and the airline shortened my trip by 2 days due to flight cancellation. My favorite snorkeling spot was by permit only (news to me). I usually come to Hawaii in winter but had to come during summer with grandkids. Everything was prebooked ; never had this problem before. Second half of trip went to Kona and did not have problem with anything. Don't understand what is going on in Kauai. Beautiful island needs to get people friendly. Anyway all three families enjoyed the house. A side note: when we checked the guest house the oven was on so we turned it off and we did not need the guest quarters. In your does and don'ts the tone is very negative; don't judge all you guest by the action of past jerks.

The property is lovely and especially well appointed. It is spacious and clean. Recently added air con in bedrooms is a huge plus. No phone reception or wi-fi in the garden suite was a negative that could be easily fixed. The advertised hot tub was broken and that was a HUGE negative for our group of 12. We would not have stayed at this house had we known. And the $25 per day offered as compensation after the stay was insulting. Will not use this company again unless they do something more reasonable - but Tanya who we dealt with was a delight.

The home easily fit multiple couples, kids, and grandparents. The home is well stocked with all necessities even more than expected including tons of beach gear. Our only complaints were minor but the sliders in the main master bedroom and the dining room wouldn’t open. They were broken and since the house doesn’t have central air it was VERY hot during the day. We contacted the property manager who said there is nothing they can do about the doors being broken. Also the outside patio chairs were broken and/or unstable and really need replaced. Other than that the house was fantastic.

This place was so perfect for us. We went as an extended family of 13 people and we fit in perfectly. Everyone had their space and room to roam. The views were wonderful. It was peaceful. The bicycles, hot tub, and boogy boards were a nice touch too. While a bit of a drive from Lihue we found the close by town of Hanalei to be a wonderful place to eat, shop, and swim.

The seventh room is separate from everything else; this is not clear from the listing. Thus it's also not clear that there are only three bathrooms for ten people which becomes crowded. The kitchen is pretty well equipped which helped us cook all our own meals. The lanai is lovely with a nice view. We walked to some of the beaches so didn't have to worry about parking as much.

We rented this house with a group of family and friends as we came down for our honeymoon overall the house was very beautiful and it came with boogie boards, chairs, beach towles, and a beach umbrell. The view was beautiful, there were also 2 bikes to use to ride. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the refrigerator does not hold a cold temp. I've worked with appliances and that fridge needs replaced as the compressor is bad so we had to use the refrigerator downstairs so we did not ruin our food as the fridge would not go lower than 60 degrees the whole time we were there except once it was at 38 degrees. There were also light bulbs burnt out the master bathroom toilet area which was very inconvenient as that was the only light, so if you shut the door to have privacy while you go to the bathroom it was pitch black. I think for how much we/you pay to stay in this house they should make sure the refrigerator works and all the light bulbs are working in bathrooms and bedrooms. it's not anything that would keep us from staying here again we just hope next time they'll have the fridge either repaired or replaced by then cause having to go up-and-down the stairs to be able to cook or get anything to drink is very inconvenient when you have a large group of people you're trying to Cook for. Overall loved the home!

This was the perfect house for my family and friends in the great community of Princeville. We had 14 people and we were all very comfortable. It was the perfect house for us because this house has a kitchen downstairs. With a young child in the house that was a big help when she woke early, she didn't wake everyone in the house. It also helped to have the second refrigerator, we had a lot of mouths to feed. We utilized the jacuzzi and the wonderful balconies and its views. The house has everything for the beach chairs, cooler, boogie boards, snorkel set and towels. It also had 3 bikes and we used them alot. There is shopping and a market nearby so if you need something , it's a quick 3 minutes to the store or 10 minute bike ride. I would recommend this house to a large group, it was a great area and we had the vacation of a lifetime. Thank you to the cleaning crew and all the people who helped with questions I had and making sure our stay was great! It was!!

What a great trip and a fantastic place to stay.We had 13 people and we all fit in this house with room to spare!! the house had everything we needed and then some.
