About this cottage rental

This fully restored Victorian cottage with outdoor hot tub is situated on the banks of Cascade Creek in the small mountainous neighborhood of Cascade which is part of the Pikes Peak watershed. Great views of the creek from windows in the sitting area and
views of the mountain ridges from the wrap around porch and the sleeping loft.
The cottage is at the rear of a larger property with a main house and carriage house and is surrounded by old growth forest. The grounds: large trees, flower gardens, and a private creek side mini meadow are yours to enjoy. The cottage has a wrap around porch with chairs and a porch swing to gaze at the gardens and an outside patio next to the creek with table, chairs, and charcoal grill.
The renovated cottage is really a "tiny house"( 500 sq ')with all space efficiently dedicated. There is a small sitting area, a dining area, compact kitchen (fully equipped with microwave, stove, dishwasher, fridge, and washer/dryer), small bathroom with shower, and a light-filled sleeping loft with large windows of the mountains, forest, and night sky. The babbling creek serves as a sleeping tonic.
Several trails are outside the front door-one of which, if taken to its limit, takes you to the summit of Pikes Peak. Wildlife, since Cascade is in the foothills, is common—bears, foxes, raccoons, bobcats, and deer.

The rental was exactly what I expected. The groundskeeper greeted me as soon as I arrived, introduced themselves, and made themselves available if I needed anything. The space was the perfect size for me as a solo traveler, and I never once felt nervous about traveling alone while I was on the property. The cottage was just the right amount of nature, and the nearby creek was exactly what I needed for a calm, peaceful stay. I also highly recommend taking the short hike up to Mother's Rest - you won't be disappointed!

Oh my goodness this place is so cute, clean, and I can’t say enough about listening to a creek outside your bedroom window. It’s kinda hard to find, but well worth the search.

This is a very small 500sf house. It’s a tiny house in the main house’s backyard. It is well decorated with lots of knickknacks. It is very clean & well maintained. The caretaker lives in the main house & is very responsive to any questions or problems you may have. The stairs are VERY steep. If anyone has any mobility issues, then going up to the bedroom would be very tough or potentially dangerous when going down for certain individuals. I would definitely make a BIG point of this on the property posting so a renter is not surprised like we were. Bed is not very comfortable & I’m not sure of the size but it seems very short to me which is made worse due to the A frame ceiling. I’d recommend the owner replace with a new king mattress. If you have to sleep downstairs (like my wife had to due to the steep stairs), there’s only a small futon that really can only accommodate a small adult or a child. We had to get a hotel to sleep at for the last two nights since my wife couldn’t continue sleeping on the futon. I’d recommend replacing it with something that can pull out to accommodate a third guest. Hot tub was broken by previous guest. Jets on one seat worked. It was going to be repaired but not for our stay so owner gave us a bit off the rent. Recommendation here is to empty and refill the hot tub after each guest for hygiene reasons. This is a nice small rental for 2 people (not 3) if you are fully aware of and can navigate the super steep stairs!
