About this cottage rental
Nicely appointed and beautifully located two bedroom one bath cottage with 80 feet of frontage on 130 acre, quiet, no-wake Ocqueoc (say AH-key-ock) Lake. Sleeps 4 with a king bed and 2 singles. Wifi enabled fiber optic internet service and a 32" smart TV included. The kitchen is outfitted with an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, drip coffee maker, Keurig style coffee maker, and more. The attached deck off the living room with outdoor seating and gas grill is a great place to enjoy the breathtaking views overlooking the lake. Our lakeside deck just a few stair steps away from the back door offers gorgeous sunsets, a peaceful setting for your morning coffee, unobstructed sunbathing, or just "on the water but dry" lake enjoyment right at the edge of the lake. Beautiful views, abundant wildlife, fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing, including a three hour float, with one short portage over Ocqueoc Lake Rd., via the Ocqueoc River right from your dock to Lake Huron (please check with your host before heading downriver as the Spring 2025 ice storm may have affected accessibility of this trip). Your stay includes the use of our 14 foot row boat, gas grill, private dock, and all the amenities. The Point at Ocqueoc is located 20 minutes to Rogers City, Onaway, and Black Lake; 30 minutes to Cheboygan and Indian River; less than an hour to the Mackinac Bridge. Enjoy the peacefulness and quiet solitude of lakefront living on this beautifully pristine lake, the entire west side of which is state-owned, undeveloped land. Truly, an up-north lake where you can experience nature absent the crowded lakeshore of the more developed lakes in the state. A public boat launch is located on the south end of the lake for the launching of your fishing boat or pontoon. Canoes and kayaks can be launched from right in front of the cottage via your private dock. No smoking. Pet guest limited to one adult dog weighing less than 35 pounds. $35 pet fee will be charged. Written rental agreement including pet addendum (if applicable) to be completed separately after registration.

Great location as far as the views are concerned and the accessibility to the lake. The place needs a good cleaning - found dirt and cobwebs under some furniture and were concerned for our little dog. Needs twi window A/C units - one in living room and one in main BR - it can get warm.
