About this farm stay rental

Our farmhouse was built circa 1885 and the farm has been owned and maintained by the family for over 150 years. Five generations of our family have lived on the farm, and we are now making the farmhouse available for those needing a quiet, country retreat or vacation rental for an entire family looking for a place to stay while attending a wedding, family reunion or other special occasion in the area. The house is also ideal for those visiting the Clearfield area for recreational purposes. The quiet and peaceful setting would also be attractive for those who write. The home sits on nearly 200 acres consisting of farmed fields, grazing pasture for cattle, and forested areas bordering the property.

This century farmhouse has been lovingly renovated, modernized, and furnished with mixed period antiques and current day style, yet keeping with the character of a farmhouse built in the 19th century.

Our farmhouse has 12 rooms with 2 stories for your use, consisting of 4 bedrooms upstairs (one queen, three full size beds) and one downstairs bedroom with a twin bed & a sleeper sofa with the ability to sleep up to 10 people in the home.
There are 3 full size bathrooms (2 upstairs and 1 downstairs) with all towels and linens supplied. It has a modern kitchen equipped with all appliances and cookware.

This is a lovely vacation home for those wanting a quiet, comfortable home to enjoy for relaxation or for an entire family looking for a place to have extended time together.

Our home is non-smoking. Smoking is permitted outside or on the porch but not anywhere in the home.

We stayed here on October for a wedding and fell in love with the house and the location. It was the perfect place to spend the week of Christmas with family. The house was beautifully decorated for the holiday! There had been a snowfall on Christmas Eve, so the ground was snow covered and beautiful with the Christmas tree lit in front room. We had such an amazing time visiting your home. It was laid out perfectly for our group of 4. Plenty of space to be together or apart, whichever you needed. We can’t wait until our next stay in December! From my sister in law: My brother and sister in law invited me and my daughter to stay the weekend here with them, knowing that it might help to get away for a bit after my husband passed away. What a great weekend it was and what a fantastic place to spend it! I’m big on history and relaxing on a beautiful autumn weekend in this wonderful house was a great experience. Besides all of the history displayed here, it was so comfortable as well. It was very impressive the way the house preserved its beginnings, but had every modern convenience. Plus, there were so many added extra touches throughout this home, just to make it that much more enjoyable. I hadn’t slept so well or comfortably in quite a while, and was sorry when the weekend came to an end. We enjoyed our stay inside and out here, and are looking forward to coming back to this wonderful home- thank you for making it available!

This was our 5th time that we have stayed at the Farmhouse and this time like the other 4 times was excellent. We have always arrived and Susan has the lights on and door unlocked. She also had freshly baked sweets sitting on the counter. We would recommend this property to anyone who would like to get away and relax — sitting on the swing or chairs on the front porch watching the Amish go by in their horse drawn buggies with the American Flag flying.

This house is so amazing. If you are looking for a great place to get away from urban life, then this is your place. I grew up in the area, but moved to more urban areas a long time ago. I was looking for something that reminded me of my youth. House is very spacious, five very comfortable bedrooms and three bathrooms. Loved the little treats that were left for us to snack on, just like the hospitality I was use to growing up with. Susan is a wonderful host! Kitchen is well stocked for any of your basic needs. Outside seating, front porch is very inviting. I will be back again.

This property is a jewel for those who love and appreciate a quiet, peaceful, and country setting. My wife and I have been here 4 times over the past 20 months (averaging a week on each stay), we plan to return for a week in October. The owner goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect and is quick to correct if something does go off track. We stay in VRBO’s on a regular basis and we are thankful that we found this one. Anyone who stays here and not give it 5 Stars, probably should not be booking a home that is over a 100 years old and packed with antiques.

This house was absolutely perfect for the family of the bride to stay in. It was 15 minutes away from the venue, quiet and had plenty of room for all 9 of us to stay in. It had everything we needed for our 1 year old including toys and a high chair. We would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again

We LOVED our stay at the farmhouse. My 10 year old wants to learn more about farm life and she loved everything she found inside and around the property. She made friends with a cow as we hiked up to the top where we saw the gorgeous colors of the fall. The house was so perfect to reconnect with a few local family members we hadn’t seen in years. We enjoyed Bilgers Rocks while in town, a huge natural playground for big kids of any age. If you are looking for a place to spread out and enjoy nature, this is the house for you.

This was our second time staying at the farmhouse. It is a wonderful place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle. Nice and quiet with the sound of horse and buggy every once in awhile. The property was excellent for 5 Adults and a 6 and 8 year old to stay for Pap's 90th Birthday Celebration. Over the years we have stayed at numerous VRBO locations and this was the cleanest one ever. The owner went out of her way -- we arrived several hours after dark and she had the house open, and lights on. The house was warm and decorated for Christmas along with snacks on the counter. Each room in the house has its own thermostat with the exception of the sun room and the one bed room upstairs. There was an excellent supply of kitchen tools and small appliances. The home has plenty of towels and extra bedding. Our two grandsons spent time visiting the cows at the barn. This property was amazing. We are already talking about going back for another visit to this property. We would recommend this place -- giving it a 10 out of 10 rating!

This is the second time staying at this house and we plan to go back. The owner is quick to answer any questions and to suggest local spots/attractions. This house is kept very clean and is well stocked. The front porch was our favorite spot and the grounds are beautiful. We did some site seeing this trip at Bilgers rocks, Curwensville lake, DelGrosso's amusement park and to Clearfield. Wonderful location for a family get away!
