The location was excellent, with a 20 minute walk to Tahoe city along a protected bike lane. The cabin itself was clean and functional, although a bit dated. Grill situation was strange to say the least - it was a tiny camping grill bolted to the driveway. It was too small to use so we ended up baking our dishes in the oven. Overall we had a good time and thought it was reasonable for the price. Thanks for a fun trip!

The cabin was perfect for before and after my daughter’s wedding. We had a lovely family dinner on the deck, the beds were comfortable, a nice big fridge for wedding leftovers. There is an excellent library of books to chose from. It is not fancy but is very comfortable. The owner is wonderful, very accommodating, responsive to questions and needs. I definitely recommend this cabin & will return if we plan another trip to Tahoe City.

It is a perfect place yo Rest and relax. Tahoe is a lovely place and without a doubt someday i will return. The location of the property is optimal, very close to any need and the neighborhood is very quiet and cozy. In a few words, for me, the house is perfect. Thank you very much Henry for trusting us.

Overall, this is a solid rental and great bang for your buck. The house comfortably fit our party of 8, and we didn't even use the bunk beds downstairs. This is not Tahoe luxury living, but the cabin is very true to the amenity description. Henry, the owner / manager, was exceptionally responsive and helpful with all of our inquiries. I had a question for him when I arrived at the house, and he responded via a phone call within 15-20 minutes, which is quite impressive. He seemed like he genuinely wanted to ensure we had the best experience possible. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfortable. No issues with either of the two bathrooms. The deck was very large, which was perfect for our group to enjoy dinner and drinks outside. There are several small details which may have lowered this rating slightly to a 4.5 out of 5. The outdoor grill is quite small, so only a very limited amount of grilling can be done. A few of the upstairs widows did not have screens, so I chose not to open them rather than potentially get eaten by bugs. The TV is quite dated, uses an antenna for limited channels, and no HD, which is a bummer when Alabama and FSU are playing week 1 of the season. And like I mentioned before, this is not a luxury cabin, but just a good deal with a property manager than you couldn't ask anything more of. I would definitely stay here again.

The cabin is very cozy and is close to everything. Henry answered all my questions and gave me locations to eat at while in Tahoe. He responds quick to email and the cabin instructions are very easy to follow (check in and out, internet, etc.)

Just as described. Very clear communication from owner. But the main winner here is location, location, location. Easiest entry into Alpine or Squaw, tons of other activities around too. Thanks!

We were a family of 5 and a couole that joined us and the cabin was perfect for our needs. The only thing I will advise is to bring all the cooking essential (oil, flour, suger, spices etc' even coffee and tea!) as there is nothing in the cabin beside salt and pepper as far as food. Everything else was perfect.

The cabin was in a great location for a wedding weekend full of activities in the tahoe city area. Walkable to most everything we needed. 4 bedrooms that are clean and simple. Bathrooms are small, but functional. Kitchen had everything we needed. TV has only the basic channels but works. Nice cozy living room with 6 person dining table. Stairs to the basement bedroom are quite steep and can be a bit dangerous, and the host really prefers that a minimum amount of cooking be done at the cabin. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and the cabin was everything we needed. Would stay there again!

House was very comfortable, clean, and stocked with everything we needed for an easy stay. Close to paved bike trail and to zipline/ropes course at Granlibakken, both super for kids. Owner was easy to work with and very nice. Thank you again.

I absolutely LOVED my time in Tahoe, and I would have likely gotten out and spent more time at the water (which was the intended target) if it had not been such a relaxing and charming atmosphere at this house! The large deck was so inviting for curling up with a great book and and a cup of tea. I simply felt at home here. In the living room I was enchanted with the custom etched fireplace glass I can't wait to go back when it is chilly enough to warrant a small fire!! My whole family was in love with the basement room. This is probably a best bet for kids with it's built in bunk beds and large built in canopy type bed, but I have to be honest, it completely inspired my inner child and I was ready to displace my own children and build a fort! This whole place was full of magic for our family. Me and my husband were able to sleep wonderfully in one of the main floor rooms and my mother took the large loft room with it's own bathroom upstairs.The owner is wonderful and full of knowledge. You can tell he truly loves his community and takes pride in his home. Next time (and there will be a next time!) we will be bringing more kids and staying a few more days. The location is so perfect to let the kids wander and also to trip through town and down to the local beaches and parks. I would recommend Sugar Pine Point if you get chance!

I had a wonderful experience in this home. Before I ever made it into the house I fell in love with the deck. This is the type of deck that inspires people to sit and enjoy each others company. There is so much room to sit on this wrap around deck with its built in wooden benches, and it is surrounded by trees so it almost feels like you are in a tree house! The kitchen is clean with lots of counter space and done with a lot of great wood cabinets and flooring and it has a great bay window that looks out onto this awesome deck! It is perfect for creating meals to share with your friends and family whether you eat at the large dining table or out on (yep you guessed it...) the deck where there is also a picnic table. There was a ton of room for the kids, the wife, and even my mother in law to spread out between the 4 bedrooms but I was surprised to see everyone hanging out together despite the Wifi. Normally Wifi would result in my kids being sucked into cyber land but not this time! The rooms were cozy and clean. The kids loved the rack room downstairs (that's what we called it because of the bunk beds) It was an extremely short drive to dining and a relatively short drive to the local state parks. Would love to come back and explore some more!

This house is terrific and the owner even more so. Likely it makes little difference to the average renter that the landlord might recommend a biography of e.e.cummings or pretty much anything by Saul Bellow. But, think about it. People who can do those things are likely to have great houses. The best idea is to rent the house then invite the owner to come and entertain you.

The VRBO ad describes this house with Patio, outdoor grill, wifi and a short walk to the beach. I would have never rented this place had I known the outdoor grill was a small portable grill tethered to a post down a flight of stairs from the deck and 50 ft from the house. When I complained to the owner he stated the best thing I could do was to grill in shifts to accommodate my family of 8. Really? A patio was also advertised; unfortunately, the only piece of furniture was a tattered old table and a built in bench on the edge of the deck. How can a family of 8 enjoy a patio without furniture? We had also planned on spending time at the beach, and the idea of a short walk to get there was perfect. However, we discovered the short walk was 1 plus mile, so we ultimately had to drive each time we went to the beach. The ad also stated wifi. It worked intermittently the 1st day of our stay then stopped working for the duration of our stay. We had planned this trip for months and planned on relaxing on the deck and grilling every night during our 4 night/5 day stay. I would have never rented this place had I known there wasn't an appropriate grill for a family of 8, or the distance to the beach was over a mile. I have a family of 8 and we plan yearly vacations. This was a very disappointing vacation that could have been avoided if the ad had represented the rental property accurately.

Our group of six adults stayed in the home for the weekend. Henry was great to work with, responded very quickly and gave great suggestions on a few places to see near the home. The home itself was perfect for our group, had plenty of space, was very clean, and warmed up nicely once we started a fire. The kitchen had all we needed for our cooking needs. It snowed a bit during one of the days we stayed, and the views out of the many living room windows were great! Would definitely stay again..thanks so much again Henry!

Everything was clean and in great shape. Used the fireplace (in May). I appreciate a place to stay that is non smoking and does NOT allow pets. (allergies) The owner is prompt and very easy to communicate with.

My husband, myself and my brother in law stayed here for 5 nights during the week of the 4th of July. We couldn't have found a better place to stay for everything we wanted. Location, awesome. This house is located approximately 0.7 miles to Tahoe City. We took our bikes and NEVER had to use our car, even to go to grab a bite to eat at all the great places that Tahoe City has to offer. There is a place called Sunnyside Restaurant which is located about 2 miles from the house, if that.....that serves lunch and dinner out on the deck which overlooks Lake Tahoe. I give this restaurant a 10....we also rode our bikes there to avoid any traffic. This house is located in the best location I have ever stayed at in Tahoe City. It is surrounded by trees and has a beautiful wrap around deck and barbeque. The location of the house was extremely quiet which is always a plus. The only thing we had to bring here was ourselves, food, and our personal items. The owner keeps this place fully stocked of towels, pillows, sheets, paper towels, silverware, dishes, toilet paper, dishwasher soap and laundry detergent....it was amazing!!!!!! The owner also keeps this house incredible clean, which is a huge thing for us. We were even able to ride our bikes to the fireworks which were set off in Tahoe City, over the water. We did not have to fight the crowds with driving and trying to find parking. We ate at another great restaurant called Jake's on the Lake, which has a grassy area for people/customers to watch the fireworks, it was awesome. There is also a public beach called Commons Beach which is also very close to the house. The owner was fantastic to work with. He even called us once we arrived to make sure everything was to our satisfaction!!!! He is/was so kind and so easy to work with not to mention very fair on the price for everything we were getting. There is an attached garage where we were able to store all of our rafting gear and bikes which was also a great thing. On the deck, which was recently re-done (re-surfaced, the wood) was a very nice patio table and plenty of chairs for those nights that we barbequed or ate outside. The brand new stainless steel refrigerator located in the kitchen was also a great surprise and had more room than we needed both in the refrigerator part and in the large freezer. I cannot say enough great things about this house. We immediately booked it again for next year and I am counting the days!!!!! Loved it!!!!!!

My family of four stayed at this cabin for 3 days in August. We had a great time and loved staying here. It was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed being able to walk to the Tahoe House Bakery in the mornings. The owner was very friendly and helpful in answering any questions we may have had. Thank you!

stayed here with kids and friends for a week. excellent house and easy transaction. the owner is very responsive + gave great advice on boat rental and near by restaurants. the house is in great shape and has everything you need for your stay - from towels to linens to fully equipped kitchen. Tahoe City with all its civilization necessities is just 15 minutes of a pleasant walk away from the house. will stay here again :)

This home is ideally located just south of Tahoe City, close to bike paths, the lake, town, and all the other attractions on the west side. There is a large wrap-around deck for relaxing amongst the pine trees. The home itself is comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen and a very good sound system for playing music. I recommend bringing a hammock as there are lots of trees where it could be attached. Pet friendly. Owner was very responsive and friendly. This home is ideal for families with pets.

This is a great house, simple and comfortable. Perfect location, within walking distance to a GREAT bakery and 2 miles out of town from Tahoe City. We loved the place.
