Hilo, Hawaii Getaway

Great experience from beginning to the end.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The coqui frogs and next door roosters are a powerful force to reckon with, but we brought a portable speaker and white noise app on the phone to deal with them! Otherwise, the house is far enough back from the road that you don’t hear any traffic. The location felt safe and was centrally located for our exploration of Hawaii’s east side.

This little gem is out of the hub bub of town, but anything you would need is quickly accessible. The roosters are loud outside, but barely noticeable inside….However I was still able to fully enjoy my morning time sitting outside. Our host was outstanding and I wish all hosts were more like Lillias. She was very accommodating with our requests for early check in and late check out, and I feel like if there was anything else we needed she would do what she could to meet those needs. All in all I would absolutely come back and stay again!!! Mahalo

To put it politely, it was worth the money she refused to refund us to leave as soon as possible. Hopefully she will consider using that money to hire someone to clean her guesthouse properly, so as not to be a health and safety issue for future guests. Once cleaned, I imagine it would be a charming little stay. Photos of the living room were different than the actual living room. It just needs to be a bit updated and cleaned thoroughly. I woke up in a panic in the middle of the night and smell of mold and we just had to leave. She is nice but it took a long time to get a response and partial refund.
