The property was perfect for our purpose. We didn't have a chance to enjoy the hot tub but definitely enjoyed the home. Very well located for access to everything in the Mt Hood and Columbia River. Thank you so much!

Our stay was nice. Layout of the house is great (primarily bedrooms upstairs but one downstairs). Kitchen is for tall people. Lots of equipment, but supplies like hand soap, dish soap, toilet paper not enough for a week. When I mentioned this privately to the management, she said I should’ve called and they would have brought more over.

The first night we stayed saw live mice in the kitchen with lots of evidence of mouse poop everywhere. The next morning caught two mice. Called the property manager at 8 am and they didn’t fix anything until 1 in the afternoon. Was extremely dismissive about the whole thing until the maintenance guy took the caught mice to her physically. Then they transferred us to another place that was great but it was hectic and gross. Also had structure issues with soft wobbly steps that were hard for people with movement problems. Only way up and down stairs was a very narrow and steep staircase. Doors don’t latch or stay shut. Don’t stay here select another property

Each year our kids, their spouses and our 7 grandkids go to Mt. Hood so they can Snowboard and ski . Although we do get together at Christmas time - this trip is the bulk of the gifts we give to them . This year we chose to stay here - and everyone said this was the best place yet ! Good location(though I felt a little close to hey 26 - BUT that can be a plus cause then you don’t have far to drive on snowy back roads . Nice hot tub in a forested setting . We had a great time

Reviewer Comments: Rockin Rhody Retreat cabin is an excellent choice for a large family: plenty of bedrooms, large dining & kitchen, spacious living area with lovely fireplace, laundry, and a wonderful hot tub! The cabin is located close to all that Mt. Hood outdoor recreation has to offer, plus access to an elaborate network of trails right from the cabin. It is also pet friendly which is important to our family. The only downsides to the cabin were the proximity to the very busy highway, worn out living room furniture and mattresses (uncomfortable), and a few times we had to unclog toilets. The weather was super rainy during our stay so we did not spend time out on the deck or yard area which made the proximity to the highway acceptable. Non of these were deal breakers for us. We enjoyed our week long stay!

Our stay was amazing! We had a handful of friends celebrating my partner’s birthday and this home was perfect. Plenty of beds for people to sleep, a large living room for games and conversation. A beautiful backyard with easy access to hiking and the town. Would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for an stress-free getaway!

You sometimes never know what you are going to get with certain reviews, but I am someone who can’t even sleep if I don’t feel like the place is safe or clean and I slept great! The hot tub worked well and was clean. We enjoyed this place very much and although the last 9 years we typically find a different place to stay, we talked about renting this place again since it accommodates my families size so well. Also, the property management company had great customer service! I had to call a few times with questions when our plans changed with pet sitters cancelling and a few other things and they were very helpful and accommodating.

Classic large cabin in Rhododendron with plenty of space. Forest around is gorgeous and right next to a walking trail that connects to many others up and down the mountain, but also right next to the highway. My 2 favorite restaurants are nearby Al Forno and Skyway. Mt hood express bus stops very close too and is only $2! Fireplace was so beautiful but barely warmed the room. Came with enough wood for several hours of a fire. Got more at the grocery right down the street. Place stayed warm enough with the electric wall heaters but they kicked on a lot. Might need a home insulation inspection and upgrade. Hot tub was perfect temp and very clean!

My family rented this comfortable home for six nights to celebrate a family Christmas. We did numerous hikes and went cross country skiing one day. The cabin is very well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed. A great place to play board games and enjoy a crackling fire. The only concern is the steep staircase with a one year old. There is a good market walking distance away. We had a magical time. Thank you.

The house had inappropriate heater’s, it was so cold down stairs, it never heated up the entire time we were there, the heater in living room, one side blew out warm air and the other side cold air, the one in dining room barely worked, they were so full of dust. We had to buy wood, presto log’s and had to have our son bring wood with him, and still barely kept it warm, that’s also with the fireplace blowing out smoke, there was mold on the shower curtain in the down stairs bathroom, there was some kind of knocking noise coming from the meter that went off every couple of minutes that was going off the entire time, you could hear it in the kitchen and the bedrooms up stairs. We were told there was enough wood for 3 days for a fire for a couple of hours each day, there was about 6 or 7 pieces of wood with some smaller pieces to start, the wood was totally wet green wood that wouldn’t even burn, we would have just left, but we have Christmas with our kids a week early so they can have Christmas with their family. We literally had to keep bundled up and have blankets on us, the blankets smelled stell, I have never rented a place that never heated up. I would think that someone had to know of this problem. I have never been So Disappointed.

This property served out family well. We needed extra beds and extra space in order to gather our immediate extended family. we have a cabin of our own just down RD 19, and loved being able to walk back and forth and have the wonders of a washer and dryer, hot tub, dishwasher, internet at this one! It is well kept and comfortable!

Comfy and thoughtfully equipped property in a beautiful setting. Helpful and friendly local staff. Would definitely stay again! The only thing we would change is a more effective stair gate - the one provided dis hot fit very well and the stairs we very steep for our two-uear olds.

My family of 7 had a great stay at Rockin" Rhody. It's a very comfy, has a beautiful fireplace, big dining room to hang and play games. The upstairs has four bedrooms so there is plenty of room. The creek is a short distance and beautiful. The only small complaint was there was a thumping sound from the water heater, but not a big deal.

The fireplace is just amazing and the leather couches surrounding it incredibly comfy. It feels secluded even with the highway near. There are trails nearby for walking and a small grocery within walking distance if you've forgotten anything. There are tons of games and a great big dining table to play them at! The kids loved the nintendo games, too, but wifi was pretty spotty.

Like some of the other reviews mentioned, a few of the drawers in the kitchen are liable to spill out onto the floor if pulled out even halfway - I'd definitely fix that as children could really hurt themselves. The kitchen is fully stocked (we couldn't find the cord to the big pancake grill, alas, but there were many big pans). There's not much room to stash groceries. We made do with the butcher block table in the dining room and it was fine.

The only real disappointment was that the hot tub wasn't working and we were unable to get anyone out over the weekend to fix it.

All in all, we had a wonderful weekend!

Only issue was how close it is to Hwy 26 ; due to the road noise when outside and after going to bed. Beautiful hike to Little Zigzag Falls. Perfect for the grandkids.

We came for a time to relax and play. Fun hikes nearby, great hot tub, comfy beds. Highway noise was the only negative and it wasn't a big deal at all. Beautiful woods surround the cabin. We were cold in the mornings but only because we weren't smart enough to notice the heater in the dining area where we ate and played games. We highly recommend this rustic retreat.

The fireplace is incredible, one of the largest I’ve ever seen and it created such a cozy ambiance. Things to know: I don’t think any of the pictures show that there is a nice flat screen TV in the living room with cable which I think some past reviews may have mentioned it didn’t have. There really are 5.5 bedrooms. In addition to the one king room, three queen rooms and the bunk room with the 3 sets of bunk beds, there is a small room with a futon as well. It was much appreciated when we realized one of our group who was supposed to sleep in the bunk room has a snoring problem. The hot tub was lovely but the deck was very very slippery so be cautious. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, great proximity to ski bowl. We had a fantastic stay and works recommend it to anyone. Very friendly staff at the rental office.
