Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites Valparaiso by IHG

The location was very convenient. The staff was delightful, kind and competent.

The hotel was just not very soundproof - the door didn't go to the floor, so hallway noise was very loud, and we were stuck in a room near the lobby, so we could hear EVERYTHING. In addition, the hotel was just loud - every sound seemed to carry - the sound of people walking (respectfully, normally) in the hallway above our room, or just walking in the room above us, conversations at normal volume in the hallway or neighboring rooms, we heard it all.

Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the sheets/comforter were soft, clean lobby and dining area, spacious parking lot

The staff was extremely unprofessional in my opinion - they were arguing in front of us during check-in, rolling eyes and talking negatively about people they were on the phone with, smoking cigarettes outside right next to the entrance doors, loud personal conversations I could overhear from my hotel room (as they sat outside smoking). Rhonda was particularly rude and not at all representative of a manager of a business that specializes in customer service. We were in a rush to get to a concert and one of the lower level employees made a mistake and changed dates during check-in, Rhonda was impatient and insisted on us waiting around for them correct their own mistake - adding stress to our timeline to get to the concert we traveled for. There was one woman (the lower level employee) who WAS extremely helpful and accommodating but I cannot remember her name. If it wasn’t for her, we may have walked out of the hotel lobby.

Good location

We stayed in a room with double beds and a roll in shower. You would think that it was a handicapped room. It’s not. The bed was hard to get in and out of. It would have been nice to have a handrail attached to the bed to hold on to. The chairs in the room were also not easy to sit in. They need to have chairs with arms. As for the bathroom, they need to have grab bars on both sides of the toilets (not just on one side).

I only made it around the first floor. Everything was clean and easy to navigate.

The only thing I can say is the side exit doors closed really loud.

The room was alright, clean, stocked, bed was comfortable.

I booked the hotel with the amenities of indoor pool and hot tub. Upon arrival the pool was cold and the hot tub wasn't functioning. The hot tub had the same cold water, jets not working, water looked cloudy and had things floating in it. No towels to be found in the pool room. Very disappointed, especially when booking the hotel for this reason.

The location was central located near everything we need it.

First of the front desk was very rude as I was checking in then. While swimming we was falsely accused of having a football in the pool when we didn’t another family had brought it to the pool but the front desk worker on address the black family that was in the pool area. While white families had cooler with liquor in nothing was said to them!! Then my retro 12 jordan was stolen from the pool area and staff refused to run camera or even do anything about I will never boo with this hotel again. There very much so racist and me and my children couldn’t even enjoy our time

None of the machines had any thing to drink in them. No creamer at coffee bar. Entrance was where everyone was smoking and not clean. Room ac didn't get cold.

The staff were the best! incredibly kind and helpful!

Drapes were too long to close over heating unit Light in the corner of the room did not work at all. Told the front desk clerk about it and all she could say Sorry. Nothing about solving the problem like changing out the light.

The beds were not comfortable at all! Pillows were not comfortable either. The bed seemed like it was found to break it squicked a lot. Breakfast sucked . Reception ppl very unfriendly and rude.. front door locked and had to call on the phone outside. Hey

we were on the first floor and the carpets looked definitely worn in some places. took a bath and felt like I should have wiped the tub before I did so bc it didn’t feel super clean.

I didn’t like booking our room through booking.com as our plans changed and we could only stay one night but had to pay for 2. Had we booked directly with the hotel we would’ve been able to cancel Saturday night and not have to pay.

Good location and it was clean.

No plugs by the beds to charge your cellphone. The sheer curtains did not shut all the way to block out the light in the morning. Also, the front curtains that would normally shut to block out all light were merely a decoration. Only two panels on each side and you were not able to close them. We were wide awake at 6:00am and didn’t have to be. Paid $255 for a good nights sleep and didn’t get it.
