We spent a comfortable week at Authiou. The gite is spacious and is well equipped, especially the kitchen. Unfortunately, we were unable to spend much time in the garden because of the unseasonably chilly weather, but it is very peaceful and would provide plenty of shade in hot weather. We enjoyed walks round the village, watching little owls, barn owls and roe deer. Pierre is a very good host and has prepared an excellent booklet with information on shops, markets restaurants, excursions and walks. It was very helpful and we made full use of it.

Set in probably the most beautiful area of France we have visited (and we've been to most of them!) this is a haven of calm. The cottage is presented beautifully with many fine items of antiquity and overseen by a lovely owner, Pierre. We enjoyed a fantastic week, thank you Pierre.

Vi lånte i maj måned familie Becque feriehus. En sand fransk perle, med rustik charme og al den idyl og ro man kan ønske sig. Værterne var hensynsfulde, utrolig gæstfrie og en stor hjælp til unikke lokale oplevelser samt spændende attraktioner for en hver smag i nærområdet. Med 3 børn og 1 hund fik vi en mere eventyrlig ferie end vi havde turde drømme om. Vi sender hermed vores varmeste anbefalinger og vender helt sikkert tilbage. We borrowed in May month family Becque holiday home. A true French pearl, with rustic charm and all the idyll and tranquility one could wish for. The hosts were considerate, incredibly hospitable and a great help with unique local experiences as well as exciting attractions for every taste in the area. With 3 children and 1 dog we got a more adventurous holiday than we would have dreamed of. We hereby send our warmest recommendations and will definitely return.

We spent a lovely week staying in this cottage. The location was delightful, with great views over the valley. The rear garden is great for kids with a large lawn and plenty of room for them to run around on, but it is also ideal for outside eating with table and chairs or indeed a pic-nic under the trees. Across the lane at the front of the house there is an orchard with great bird life and red squirrels, with the valley stretching out beyond. The owner was exceptionally helpful and very friendly. He went out of his way to give us information on the area and advice on where to visit and where to shop. He really was outstandingly helpful. The house is very spacious and we found that we had everything that we needed. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property if you are seeking a base to visit the Morven national park, the many chateaux in the area, Vezelay and Guedelon which are both within easy reach.
