Nicer than I expected, and much quieter. My wife is very happy posting photos of the room on Instagram. It's a 4 minute walk to "downtown", and you get to see some pretty impressive cottages if you go by the lakefront trail. Parking isn't great if you have a full size pickup, you'll probably need to be across the road in street parking if you don't want to be blocking the sidewalk. For half the price of the more modern hotels here, and for being a huge room that's got lots of character, it's worth it.

While the exterior needs some maintenance and updating on the patio, the rooms were nice enough and large. I do wish the fire places were converted to gas so you could use them... Other than that it was pretty clean, quite where we were as there was no one above us. The price was decent and the breakfast across the street in their sister hotel is a must! There is no staff on site we delt directly with the hotel across the road.

I was very shocked at the grubby entrances. Without a/c I managed to be fairly comfortable with the standing fan and ceiling fan. The room was small but in the end, I figured out how to make it all work
