About this house rental
The Gîte le chaffour is a large recent house, of the Périgord type.
Located in the countryside, a place called "Le Chaffour" 2km from the village of Saint Genies (Grocery store, bakery, butcher), 10 km north of the medieval town of Sarlat and 15 km south of Montignac-Lascaux .
Composed of a master suite on the ground floor (160x200cm bed) with dressing room, bathroom and walk-in shower. Large living room of 70m² with air conditioning.
Upstairs, a landing with play area for children, TV, DVD-blue-ray player, cartoons and games provided. The staircase is equipped with a safety barrier.
2 large family bedrooms each with 1 140 cm bed and 2 90 cm bunk beds. 1 bathroom with shower cubicle and bathtub.
Kitchen equipped with an American refrigerator with fresh water dispenser, ice cubes and crushed ice, dishwasher, induction hob, ventilated oven, extractor hood, microphone waves, programmable coffee maker, Dolce Gusto pod coffee maker, kettle, toaster, food processor, electric griddle, Weber barbecue.
Cellar with washing machine, ironing board and iron.
140 cm flat screen TV, reception by satellite.
Heating provided by a heated floor from a geothermal borehole.
Air conditioning is present in the living room downstairs, and another on the landing upstairs.
Private swimming pool facing south, with large wooden terrace of 100m².
Balloons, pétanque balls and a volleyball net are available.
The swimming pool is heated, thermostat at 28°C from the beginning of May to the end of September by a heat pump.
Also another wooden terrace of 30 m² on the North face (appreciable in hot weather)
Large enclosed park, with lockable gate, swing, and places parking.
NB: rentals are from Saturday to Saturday. Cleaning is not included in the price, it must be done by you at the end of your stay or taken as an option at 150 €. Sheets are not included, they can be taken as an option at 12 € for double beds and 8 € for single beds. The options are to be paid on the spot when the keys are handed over.

Really liked the property, was very warm but aircon was good, pool good, views great, location great and host easy to communicate with and friendly - we had a small issue with a hornets nest and the owner sorted it promptly. Property well equipped with everything you need and all very comfortable. Great stay overall

Beau gîte moderne proche de toutes commodités. Vue magnifique depuis chaque fenêtre de la maison. Le Frigo à glaçons, le pied !!!! Beaucoup « d’accessoires » pour faciliter les vacances (machine à laver, lave vaisselle, fer à repasser + planche, lessive, sèche-cheveux, documentations.)
Le propriétaire du gîte était disponible pour toutes questions/modifications (par mail.) et ce, rapidement.
Un calme absolu, ou presque...
Les - :
dommage pour la pompe à chaleur de la piscine qui s’y trouvait juste à coté et en dessous des fenêtres des chambres du haut qui faisait beaucoup de bruit.
Manque d’organisation et de communication entre concierges/propriétaires ( caution, ménage...)
Quelques petits hics dans le ménage et dans le mobilier (chaises cassées) mais rien de bien grave. Pour nous, le point faible était la piscine : produits très agressifs, sol de la piscine mal posé et nous nous prenions donc les pieds dans le « surplus » qui ressortait du sol. Piscine un peu vieillotte!
Nous avons tout de même passé de belles vacances !!!
Un gros bémol pour les parents des propriétaires qui habitent tout près et qui ont demandé à la concierge de passer voir la piscine... nous avions un peu le sentiment d'être surveillé...
