Cotswold Place

The property was extremely well equipped, comfortable and met our expectations. Well located for walking around historic Cirencester and overnight parking was cheap and not a problem at the Beeches. Street parking was available to drop off and pick up luggage. Milk, juice, fudge and beer was a lovely touch. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay.

The outside area was disappointing, not matching the photographs. We had anticipated sitting on the terrace, but the furniture was tatty and not welcoming. Whilst not affecting us,mention should perhaps be made of the steep staircase to the bathroom/bedrooms.

Shower could do with an update/stream extractor - but thats minor stuff.

Cirencester was chosen for its centrality to a wedding in the Cotswolds which made it very easy to get a taxi pick up and collect supplies from the Tesco and local cafes, local hairdressers for Blowdry’s etc. The townhouse was surprisingly spacious once you got comfortable. The variety of cds was great we just enjoyed listening to music quite a bit.

The kettle had plastic bits falling off it on the inside and we couldn’t use it - you will need to replace it. The access is a little annoying, even though it is advertised as such. Parking in the nearby brewery car park is fine if you don’t have plenty of luggage. In our case we had to do four trips back and forth to the car park. Over three days we spent a lot in parking $$ to accomodate us. The lounge is a little lumpy and not very comfortable for two people to relax. We didn’t feel safe walking around in the evening. The access is right next to a tattoo parlour (shared walkway) and the street is deathly quiet after the shops have closed for the day. There is a lot of laneway noise as people are talking loudly as they walk by. We appreciate it’s a very very old building however the bathroom is very old and in desperate need of a makeover and good clean.
