The gite 'BEATRIX DE CUSANCE' is a character cottage built in the old Great Hall of the Belvoir castle, one of the last strong castles still existing in Franche-Comté and dating from the 12th and 13th centuries.
Medieval architecture, antique furniture, modern comfort (wood pellet heating, fitted kitchen, TV / DVD player, internet wifi, bathroom with Italian shower), breathtaking views of the Jura mountains and the Lomont mountains, a region rich in History and stories, magnificent landscapes, everything is there to make your stay in Belvoir a privileged moment of calm, rest and multiple discoveries.
This cottage can accommodate 2 to 5 people (6 if two children in the same bed of 130 x 190) was built inside the Château de Belvoir, one of the last remaining fortified castles in Franche-Comté.
You will stay in the oldest part of the castle dating from the end of the 12th century, more precisely in what was probably to be the old Great Hall of the castle of the barons of Belvoir serving both as a court room and place of gathering for all public ceremonies of the lordship. From the windows of your accommodation (3 large windows with wide opening), you will benefit from a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside and the Lomont mountains.
This gite of approximately 130 m2 is composed of an entrance, a bathroom / WC with Italian shower, a kitchen, a large living room of almost 80 m2 and a bedroom lit by one of only two still existing loopholes in the castle.
3 beds are at your disposal: 1 bed of 140x190 in the bedroom, 1 bed of 130x190 and a sofa bed (mattress 45 kg density) of 140x200 in the living room.
Fully equipped cottage, modern fitted kitchen, old furniture (17th, 18th and 19th).
Our guests also benefit from a pleasant private garden equipped with a wrought iron garden furniture and a barbecue.
The cottage was completely renovated in early 2012: wc / bathroom completely renovated, installation of a modern fitted kitchen, installation of a renewable energy pellet stove, hi-fi equipment equipment, new bedding and sofa / bed , etc ....

Nearby, you can of course walk in the streets of the small village of Belvoir, have lunch or dine at the restaurant 'LA PETITE CAVE' (attention, by reservation) in Belvoir where you can be served several specialties of the region such as frying carp, mountain ham, etc ..., visit each Friday in July and August at the night market organized under the village halls dating from the 14th century, visit the Belvoir castle superbly renovated and furnished by one of the co-owners, the painter Pierre Jouffroy, and admire its collections, including many on his own paintings, stroll in the forest, follow in the footsteps of the painter Courbet in the nearby valleys of Dessoubre, la barbèche, Cusancin, la Reverotte or even Consolation.
About 40 kms away, you can visit the Courbet museum in Ornans and the Peugeot museum in Sochaux.
At 50 kms, Besançon, city of art and history, 'old Spanish city' which saw the birth among others of Victor Hugo and the brothers of light, will charm you, in particular with its famous Citadel fortified by Vauban and listed as World Heritage of UNESCO as well as the neighboring site of the royal saltworks of Arc and Senans.
