Winemaker rents ground floor of a pretty villa with stunning views over the valley of Tautavel Vingrau, the Pyrenees and the Cathar castle of Peyrepertuse.
The apartment opens onto a living room with kitchenette (dishwasher, electric hobs, oven and microwave, coffee maker) all very well equipped (lots of dishes and utensils). The stay leads to a suite equipped with a large bed of 160 cm width. This suite hold a kitchenette with fridge and has its private shower room with double vanity unit. Another room of 12 m² can be furnished with a bed 180 cm or 2 single beds of 90 cm. Possibility of adding on extra bed or a cot.
The accommodation is crossed from East to West and has 2 covered terraces of 20 and 30 m² with garden furnitures and deckchairs. The large terrace has a barbecue. The outside gives on a garden without opposite to 1000 m ², games for children and a ground of pétanque. The whole is located on an exceptional preserved natural site. Half an hour from the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean and 45min from the Cathar castles, one of the most beautiful walks of the region is accessible on foot down the garden. Climbing spots are also within walking distance. At 5 minutes, discover the gorges of the Gouleyrous and walk in the footsteps of the man of Tautavel, discovered in the caune of the Arago after 450 000 years of rest.

We had a great holiday in Vingrau.Positives Great view from the giteVery well equippedGreat rooms size and having 2 bathrooms is great for a family.The owner was brilliant and very responsive to any requests.Quiet locationPool is a great size and a nice cooling site. Shamed it is shared with the other gite on site.NegativesLack of air conditioning in the gite despite the description on Vrbo ( we were told before coming but were told that the gite stayed cool in the summer ) this became a struggle due to the high temperatures encountered.Location is a bit far from shops.Overall we really enjoyed the region and the proximity to the sea, the french markets and to Spain. We also visited Carcassonne which we loved.

Everything about our stay here was amazing. Matthieu and Elodi were wonderful hosts. Their rental units are very comfortable, thoughtfully equipped, peaceful, and private. Great accessibility for my mother who has mobility issues (most rentals in the area have many stairs). If you love wine or if you're a cyclist or a hiker or would enjoy a week of relaxation with a heartstopping view this is the place to come. We miss the sunsets already!

Un endroit magnifique entre terre et mer! Des vues magnifiques autour de la maison, accès direct à départ une randonnée en bas de la maison! Plusieurs activités à faire dans les environs (châteaux des cathares, autres châteaux, musée de la préhistoire, une gorge magnifique, plusieurs randonnées dont la tore del fare pour une vue panoramique impressionnante, les vignobles du Roussillon sans oublier des villes côtières à 30mn notamment leucate, Canet en Roussillon, etc.) Tout ceci avec l’accueil chaleureux des COLLET : Élodie et Mathieu et leurs enfants sont super sympa et nous ont mis à l’aise dès notre arrivée (ils sont voisins aux locataires mais sont très discrets pour vous laisser profiter de votre séjour). Nous avons été visité leur vignoble et avons dégusté quelques vins de leur production.
Et bien évidemment la piscine... la piscine cerise sur le gâteau.
Nous y reviendrons et nous les recommandons ! Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés.
