About this house rental

The quietly situated property, typical of the Cévennes, is very spacious and ideal for a holiday with children.
The centre of the house is the large rustic kitchen-living room and the adjoining living room from which you have direct access to the large south-east facing terrace. Here you can already enjoy the sun in the morning and the view of the garden, the river and the mountains. After sunbathing in the afternoon, the warm summer nights invite you to an evening barbecue on the terrace grill. For the sporty ambitious there is a table tennis table in the spacious attic.

activities: The river below the house is particularly popular. Small children can also explore it safely. Follow the river bed and discover many a small swimming area.
Also when driving or hiking in the wider surroundings you will find numerous bathing places in the many rivers and streams of the Cevennes. A must is also a trip to the Tarn, about 50 minutes away, whose gorges are best explored by canoe. Already the trip there on the Cevennes panoramic road (Corniche des Cévennes) is an experience. From here you can enjoy wonderful views of the Cévennes mountains before reaching Florac. In autumn and spring the conditions are ideal for hiking.
The day of arrival is Saturday or Sunday. Other arrival days are possible after agreement.

Sheets, towels and kitchen towels are not provided. Please bring them with you.
The final cleaning has to be done by yourselves.

Heating costs are not included in the rent. The house is equipped with central heating which is fed by a pellet boiler. The costs are assessed according to consumption and amount to between € 5 and € 10 per day.

As you can also see from the comments of one of our guests, the access to the cottage from the road is not asphalted and leads along a gravel road of about one kilometre. This path can be washed out after heavy rainfall, which can occur especially in the winter months, and is only partially passable. Access is not possible with a sports car or lowered vehicle! Please ask before you book.

    We spent two very calm and relaxed weeks. The house offers many more sleeping opportunities than we needed (we were 4, the house can accommodate 12+ people), which meant our two sons did not have to share a room and we could use one room only for gymnastics. Les Plantiers is a quick car's drive (to get fresh bread in the morning) or a 30 min footwalk one-way for an afternoon swim; a small calm village (bring your boule balls) with good swimming opportunity in the small river. Very nice (and cooler) swimming/diving 20 min drive at St. André. Good starting point to see both the Gorges du Tarn, les Grandes Causses to the west, but also towards Anduze / Ales in the east. The house has a very nice, spacious entry/lounge/kitchen/eating area - all one big room with a huge table and several sofas. The terrace is huge but being only 4 the roof was enough for us, we did not have to place a sunscreen. In combination, the terrace - big room makes for a very comfy resting area. At night, you hear the animals of the forest - very nice. Take the warning about the driveway seriously. We actually loved the secludedness that accessway provides. No direct contact with hosts, but that was completely unproblematic.

    Nous avons passé une semaine délicieuse dans ce superbe mas cévenole. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié son isolement en pleine nature. La maison est aménagée sobrement mais avec goût, de sorte que l'on s'y sent très vite à son aise. La terrasse est particulièrement agréable. Quel bel endroit !!

    Grande maison rustique dans un environnement naturel. Le village des Plantiers a côté est adorable et son espace de baignade surveillée très agréable en plus de toutes les possibilités de baignade dans le Gardon.

    Une vraie propriété cévenole, agréable à vivre, bien équipée et avec beaucoup goût. Accès un peu difficile, mais repos assuré une fois qu'on y est.
