8 / 10Excellent·May 2026
This quirky property was perfectly situated in the heart of Arles and was ideal for the 2 of us. The house had everything we needed for our stay. The owner gave us lots of information on things to do, places to eat out, parking etc, which was helpful. She checked up on how things were mid week too.The parking was much easier than expected with lots of spaces within easy reach of the property.Nathalie, who met us to show us around, was very pleasant.

The place was situated in the old part of Arles.Very charming, well maintained with an extensive kitchen. We were greeted by Nathalie on arrival who went over housekeeping, things to do snd see in Arles and answered questions we had which was very helpful. We travelled by car and since there was no parking some options were offered. We ended up parking by the train station which was free and only about a 7 minute walk away.We very much enjoyed our 5 day stay and would definitely recommend this charming house.

Location was excellent…very close to Arles old city sights…coliseum, Roman theatre, museums as well as eateries and ever important train and bus station(10 minute walk) for day trips to Avignon and Nimes.

The property was excellent and our stay was wonderful. The location looks like a postcard of a Provence street, and the house is clearly historic. The owner has added lots of great touches, from little elements for kids to enjoy, to elements highlighting Arles as the home of Vincent Van Gogh. Reproductions of Van Gogh paintings are throughout the house, and you can clearly see his times reflected... the reed chairs, the shape of the bedroom, the artfully placed sunflowers. All very nicely done. The kitchen is very functional, with all necessary cooking equipment, and made it easy to enjoy all the treats we got at the weekly Arles market. The bathroom is very spacious and modern. Although a historical home, surprisingly spacious and perfect for our family. The location is very convenient for a Van Gogh walking tour, but also just two blocks from the two thousand year old Roman Arena, and one more block from the Roman Theatre. You are right in the heart of historical Arles, within the city walls. Very handy to excellent restaurants, bakery and grocery store. The weekly market (the Little Market) on Wednesdays was jaw dropping. It was simply huge, and gave a great sense of what a Provencal market can be. Parking could potentially be challenging, but the property manager reserved us a space, held it with his car while we were touring around and moved for us again after. Otherwise we found the inner city very walkable, and easy to find street parking within a reasonable walking distance. The location was great for exploring the area. We travelled to the Camargue, Avignon, Nimes, Pont du Gard, St. Remy and elsewhere through Provence in easy day trips. My only comment for consideration (which the owner was very clear about) is that the owner and property manager speak only French. They are prepared to try to communicate, but have virtually no English, so you must be prepared to practice your French. That said, as someone with high school French from 20 years ago, I was able to communicate enough to understand, and Im so grateful we were able to have this very Provencal experience.
