In the heart of Provence, located close to the beautiful village of Le Barroux, our former priory looks at the castle, the monasteries, the Dentelles de Montmirail, and Mont Ventoux.

Our estate will seduce lovers of calm and authenticity, ideally located in the heart of nature.
The cottage can accommodate up to 4 people.

This is a nice, well-stocked property. It is remote, so be sure to get clear directions prior to arrival and be prepared to drive to nearby towns for provisions. If you are not fluent in French, take care to get clear instructions prior to arrival. The drive to the property is uneven, and our rental car suffered damages for which we were assessed fees upon return. Parking is some distance from the apartment. As English speakers, we had excellent communication with the owner throughout the booking process and up to our arrival. However, the individual who met us was not at all fluent in English, and we were not able to understand many of the instructions she provided. That said, we enjoyed beautiful sunsets, strolls through the olive groves and vineyards, and a warm fire in the evening.

My husband and I just returned from two weeks staying at Veronique's property, and we loved it. The apartment is light, airy and very spacious. There is a large dining room table, a very comfortable sitting area with chairs and a couch around the fireplace, a workable kitchen, and two bedrooms. Everything was spotless clean, and the bed very comfortable. Everything is provided for, including a thoughtful market bag for purchases at the many markets in Provence. But lovely as the gite is, what we loved most of all was the location. The property is very rural and private, surrounded by beautiful vineyards and olive trees, with mountains in the distance. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful, and there are beautiful walks through the fields. You definitely need a car but with that you can easily explore Provence. We were there in March, and the weather was quite chilly some of the time but the fireplace was easy to use and lots of firewood was provided. The floor tiles are heated which was much appreciated! The swimming pool of course was not yet open, but it looked beautiful, situated among the olive trees. Veronique was a pleasure to deal with as host, replying very quickly to emails and answering all questions, and Marie-Pierre (the contact at Le Barroux) was wonderful and very accommodating. We were later than expected getting to the gite -- we didn't arrive until almost 10 pm -- but she was there waiting to greet us when we arrived. And we much appreciated the bottle of wine waiting for us from Veronique, after our long trip! It is a very special place. We highly recommend staying here, and definitely plan to return!

We spent 9 wonderful days in the Saint Jean residense - inside spacy and proper and outside nice and calm with a magnificent view and swimmingpool . You can go hiking directly from the House. We had a wonderfull vacation and would love to return some day.

Très chouette vacances passées au Barroux. La maison est très bien équipée pour les jeunes enfants tant en commodités qu'en loisir. Elle profite également d'une belle vue sur la campagne et le village du Barroux, je recommande vivement. Provence, nature, farniente, piscine; je recommande vivement.

het huis is ruim ingericht en zeer rustig gelegen. Maximale privacy wanneer de andere delen van het complex niet zijn bezet. Helaas waren er enkele problemen met de zwembadinstallatie. Volstrekt onterecht meende de eigenaar dat wij die veroorzaakt zouden hebben (gevolgd door een ongespecificeerde schadeclaim). De contacten hierover hebben een nare bijsmaak achtergelaten.

Wir waren freudig überrascht als wir am Ende der Schotterstraße vor diesem schönen Gebäude standen. Die Fotos in der Beschreibung können nicht wiedergeben wie sehr wir jeden Tag die 1a Aussicht vom Pool aus genossen haben! Wer wie wir einen Ausgangspunkt zum Radfahren, Klettern und Wandern sucht liegt hier genau richtig. Im Gebäude haben wir nichts vermisst, ok das WLAN könnte besser sein aber ansonsten haben wir nichts vermisst. Der Kontakt zu Veronique war sehr freundlich und gut, alle unsere Fragen wurden umgehend beantwortet. Fazit: Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Le lieu est très idyllique. Nous avons eu la chance de ne pas avoir de grosse chaleur. Le prieure st Jean est une belle demeure de caractère. Beaucoup de possibilité de promenades aux alentours. La piece principale est agréable et reste fraiche (meme sans utiliser l'air conditionne).

Nous avons été dépaysés dans ce magnifique mas, le calme et la vue nous ont séduit ainsi que les infrastructures pour les enfants (bac à sable à l'ombre d'un Olivier, balançoire originale, petites terrasses pour les repas,...). Le jardin d'oliviers est sensationnel, le son des criquets et la piscine très agréable. Ce fut un plaisir de pendre notre linge de fin de semaine au soleil. Ces petits bonheurs de la vie qui nous ramènent à l'essentiel. Les alentours sont riches (Crestet, Bédouin, Vaison, Le Barroux, L'abbaye,...) Merci pour cette découverte.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour: - Très bon contact et précisons utiles avant notre arrivée - La maison est bien équipée et parfaitement fidèle aux photos - L’espace extérieur et la piscine sont magnifiques et très au calme Pour un séjour encore plus parfait, 2 améliorations possibles : l’accès à la lumière pour la terrasse et la piscine, et des coussins pour les transats de la piscine. Tout le reste était parfait !

Magnifique propriété au cœur des oliviers et des vignes, à la fois isolée mais proche de tout. Le point de départ idéal pour découvrir la région et les alentours du Mont Ventoux. La région est splendide, la maison très agréable, soignée, bien placée au calme mais pas isolée, la piscine grande et dans un environnement magique au milieu des oliviers. Très bien sécurisé pour les enfants. 2 semaines reposantes et réjouissantes !

Wir waren im Juni 2019 für zwei Wochen im Landhaus bei Le Barroux. Es handelt sich um ein umgebautes Nebenhaus, das wirklich sehr schön geworden ist. Den Eigentümern steht das Haupthaus zu (dazu gehört auch die Terrasse mit überdachten Reben). Während unseres Aufenthalts waren sie jedoch nicht dort. Abstriche bei der Sauberkeit gibt es einzig für die Tiere, vermutlich Siebenschläfer, die sich im Dach eingenistet haben. Wir haben die ersten Nächte schlecht geschlafen, da die sehr nachtaktiv sind. Es wurde uns dann aber auf Hinweis umgehend ein Ultraschallgerät zur Verfügung gestellt und ab dann hörten wir nichts mehr. Allerdings hatten wir das Gefühl, dass sich im Dach einiges von den Tieren angesammelt hat, was wir nicht so toll fanden. Abgesehen davon aber wirklich tolle Wohnung, super Service, sehr freundlich und nette Orte mit kleinen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in guter Reichweite.

Dear madame Quilton, In answer to your question I say this. We had a, also due to good weather. However the cottage is very comfortable when colder, as in the second week. This is due to the floor heating and the wood fire. The privacy of the garden was important for us, I would not want to share it with other visitors. The view was spectacular

Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig wenige km von Le Barroux oberhalb der Straße nach Malaucène. Es ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, sehr großzügig für uns 2 Personen. Wenige Schritte vor dem Haus liegt der Pool im Olivenhain mit perfektem Blick auf Le Barroux und St. Madeleine. Sehr gelungen!

Ein traumhaft schöner Ort! Eine Ferienwohnung mit allem, was man braucht, dazu eine kleine Kapelle , ein romantischer Innenhof, ein wunderbarer Pool umgeben von Olivenbäumen mit Blick auf die Berge im Umland, eine zentrale Lage von der man Gegend und Märkte besuchen kann (Avignon lohnt sich!) und nicht zuletzt Madame und Monsieur, die alles dafür getan haben, dass es für uns und unsere zwei Kinder ein wunderbarer Urlaub wurde. Séjour exceptionnel dans ce magnifique gite. Le soleil était au RDV, la vue depuis la piscine paradisiaque, les apéros au coucher du soleil face aux dentelles de Montmirail inoubliable. Bref, de grands moments... Notre seul regret est de ne pas avoir pu rester plus longtemps… Mais nous reviendrons…
