About this apartment rental
Very spacious apartment, for four to five people. Located on the first floor of the old farmhouse, its entrance is at via one of its two private terraces. It includes a large living room with open-plan kitchen, games, DVDs, two bedrooms (one with a king size bed and one with twin beds) and an additional sleeping area on the mezzanine.
El Portal is an early 19th Century farmhouse (mas), renovated and decorated to a high standard, on the edge of Vivès, a sleepy little village situated at the foot of the eastern Pyrénées, close to Céret and Collioure.
Against the backdrop of majestic Mont Canigou, Vivès nestles amongst more gentle, rolling hills covered in vineyards and forests of cork oaks and mediterranean pines. Yet access by car is easy: just 10 minutes from the A9 motorway, 10 minutes from a bathing and boating lake and 25 minutes from the Mediterranean beaches. Our region is full of interesting history, art and music, not forgetting of course the renowned wine trail. With plenty of country tracks around, this is also an ideal setting for rambling, bike rides and many other activities revolving around nature.
Please note that Albéniz can be combined with a large studio on the ground floor, "Casals", to accommodate up to seven people.

Wir (2 Erwachsene + 2 Kinder 11+14 J.) waren erstmalig in dieser Region Frankreichs und haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Die Wohnung ist schön und mit allem ausgestattet was man benötigt und das Leben angenehm macht. Die Vermieter Fred und Mark sind supersympathisch, freundlich und hilfsbereit - dies vom ersten Kontakt an: bei Fragen noch vor der Buchung, über Hilfe bei der etwas kniffeligen Suche nach dem Haus bei der ersten Anreise, Tipps zu Ausflugszielen in der Umgebung, Unterstützung bei Bedürfnissen im Alltag, bis hin zum netten Kontakt nach Abreise. Vivès liegt 3 km von St. Jean -Pla-de-Corts bergauf und ist ein sehr kleines wunderschönes katalanisches Dorf in dem sich allerdings keine Geschäfte für den täglichen Bedarf finden, d.h. für die morgendlichen Croissants und Baguette muss man sich 3 km auf den Weg machen. Dafür wird man mit himmlischer Ruhe entschädigt. Zu den Mittelmeerstränden ist man jeweils ca. 20-30 Minuten mit dem Auto unterwegs, aber der Weg ist angenehm und die Strassen dorthin frei. Viele tolle Ausflugsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe: Céret mit einem interessanten Kunstmuseum, schöne Städtchen und Dörfer an der Küste und in den Pyreneen...und auch ein Ausflug in das nahe Spanien z. B. in das beeindruckende Theatro-museo Dalí in Figueras. Uns allen hat es sehr gut gefallen und werden auf jeden Fall gerne einen weiteren Urlaub dort verbringen.
