About this bed and breakfast
The Nugget is a fully renovated 1 bedroom cottage with bathroom, kitchen and washer/dryer. Perfect for 2 people. Views of Mackerel Cove and Merriconeag Sound.
The Nugget sits on the back of the property shared with Coveside, a brand new 3 bedroom cottage and the two can be rented together or separately.
This cottage has views of Mackerel Cove and the public beach of Mackerel Cove is just across the street. Mackerel Cove is a working cove, so you can watch the lobster boats come and go and buy your lobsters right off the dock. There is also a public boat launch at Mackerel Cove.
Everything in the Nugget is new- appliances, windows, furniture. It consists of two rooms plus a bathroom and closet. The main room has a kitchen with breakfast bar, a table for dining and a sofa and chair.
The bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a bureau and a generous closet. There is also a tv mounted on the wall.
The bathroom is newly remodeled and has a generous shower.
The washer/dryer is located in the bedroom closet in the Nugget.
The Nugget has 1 parking space allocated to it.
There is a roomy deck with Adirondack chairs which is lovely spot to enjoy a drink or read a book. The gardens are beautifully planted. There is a gas grill.
The Bailey Island General Store, Library Hall and other Bailey Island amenities are a a short walk.
This is a perfect spot for a couple or honeymooners. It is beautiful cottage.
Rentals are generally Friday-to-Friday

Place was terrific!! Perfect for 2 people. Owners were very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and had the cottage stocked with everything anyone would need. It was a great week!

“The Nugget” truly lives up to its charming name. This delightful cottage was an absolute gem—spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need to feel at home. From the top-quality bedding and luxurious mattress to the elegant bathroom and fully stocked kitchen, every detail speaks of care and comfort. The cozy living room was the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. Cindy and Warren have spared nothing in creating a haven for their guests. We can’t wait for our next stay in this picture-perfect cottage nestled in one of the most beautiful corners of the world.

Everything about the nugget is tasteful. The sheets are soft, the pillows are down, the countertop is honed. There is a water view out every window and the windows are new. The doors are beautifully milled. It really is delightful!Outside the area is charming and the hiking is amazing, especially the Bowdoin preserve. You can picnic at a different sandy spot each day. The water is crystal clear in Mackerel Cove as it is everywhere Mr. Burroughs gave us great hiking tips and any info that we needed.It was simply wonderful!
