About this house rental
* MINIMUM OF 2 NIGHTS during the cold season (as we need to heat a 3-story stone house), on weekends (Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday and public holidays
** 1-Night bookings available when it falls between two reservations
The house has 3 floors (with low ceilings and steep staircases) equipped with wi-fi and convertible heating and air conditioning and a fireplace.
At the basement is the dining area, small shower room with the toilet and kitchen equipped with microwave oven, refrigerator with freezer, coffee maker, Nespresso machine, toaster, water boiler, electric stove with oven and a complete set of kitchenware and dinnerware. Basic breakfast and cooking items are provided.
At the 1st floor is the living room where there is a fireplace (wood is provided), smart television with satellite channels, bluetooth speaker, working desk, toys and a selection of French and English books for adults and children.
At the top floor is the bedroom which sleeps 3 persons. There is a queen size bed (160x190) and a single bed (90x190). The beds have a mattress topper with goose feather and 5-star hotel quality bed linens. The bedroom can be divided with a curtain. There is a small dresser with a hairdryer.
Outdoor is a semi-fenced private garden with sunbeds and a dining terrace with a barbecue.
The heated jacuzzi is for the guests' private use and is available all year round. Access has a supplement charge (to be settled upon check-in) of :
30€ - Stay of 1 to 2 nights
40€ - Stay of 3 nights
50€ - Stay of 4 to 6 nights
55€ - Stay of 7 nights
Rate to be advised for stays of 8 nights and more
Swimming pool (open from mid-May to mid-September) access is at our nearby hotel "Le Pont de l’Ouysse" at no extra cost. The hotel is 500 meters away only.

THE DISTRICT
La Pinay is located in a hamlet overlooking the Ouysse Valley, a few steps from Belcastel Castle, one of the most beautiful castles of the Dordogne.
Lacave is at the crossroads of three departments (Lot, Dordogne and Corrèze) and three regions (Midi-Pyrenées, Aquitaine and Limousin). The Dordogne valley is an ideal base for visiting many sites within a one-hour radius.
Rocamadour (10 km), a medieval city classified as an exceptional Grand Site of the Midi-Pyrénées region
Villages to visit: Sarlat (38 kms), Carennac (27 kms), Loubressac (33 kms) and Collonges Les Rouges (37 kms), unmissable labeled "Most Beautiful Villages of France"
Castles: Castelnaud (45 kms), Fenelon (25 kms), Castelnau-Bretenoux (39 kms), Montal (41 kms)
Prehistoric sites: Lascaux (49 kms), Les Eyzies (49 kms)

The area offers a multitude of activities for all ages - walking, cycling, canoeing, horse riding, fishing, golf, tennis, hot air ballooning, climbing, caving, canyoning and paragliding.
For the gourmands, this little corner of the South West is the region of the black truffle, a rare and valuable product (truffle markets are held from December to February. It is also the country of foie gras, Rocamadour cheese, Périgord walnuts and Cahors wine. Visit truffle and cavage by appointment.
Shops, supermarkets, banks, pharmacies and other amenities can be found in Souillac (10 kms). There is also a market every Friday morning.
TRANSPORT
The nearest airports are Brive / Dordogne Valley (30 km), Toulouse (180 km) and Limoges (150 km).
The station of more meadow is to Souillac (11 kms) and Brive-la-Gaillarde (46 km) line Paris-Toulouse
We are in a rural environment. It is essential to have a means of transport.
We can arrange bike rental.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The rate is for 2 adults and 1 child under 2 years old. The 3rd person of 2 years and over will have a supplement of 30 euros per night.
The price includes bed linen and towels (except pool towels).
Cleaning is optional. A deposit of 40 Euros will be due on arrival, refunded upon departure after inspection of the cottage.
Pets are welcome with a supplement charge. We would like to inform you that we have a cocker spaniel. The garden is semi- fenced so your dog/s cannot run away.
I do not serve breakfast but I make available to my guests some breakfast items like coffee (for the coffeemaker), tea/infusion, cereals, grilled bread, home-made jams, eggs, butter, milk, sugar and honey. Also available are some basic cooking ingredients like vegetable oil, olive oil, walnut oil, salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar and red wine vinegar.

Very well supplied, nice little extras. The view from the terrace was amazing. Cathy was wonderful, eager to please, and ready to help when my wife became ill. Lots to see nearby.

My husband and I spent 4 nights in this beautiful cottage. It has been decorated tastefully and to a very high standard. Little touches here and there of hearts and ornaments, also make it homely and romantic.
It has everything you need. The towels and linen are of excellent quality. The sofa and bed are comfortable. The kitchen is full of all the utensils you will need and there is an oven.
You also have your own outside space, including a stone balcony which offers a stunning view. There are also loungers and a hammock to use. Everything you need and more for a relaxing holiday, in a beautiful environment.
Cathy (the owner of this beautiful cottage), was really friendly and warm, which adds to the experience. Cathy was also helpful in recommending places to visit, providing maps and guidebooks. Cathy also (very kindly) left some home made jam In the fridge, which was delicious!!!!
You also have use of a pool at Cathy's hotel, which she owns with her husband. The hotel is a 10minute walk away (max). The hotel is also home to a Michelin Star restaurant (Cathy's husband is the chef).
We had planned on eating there, but we were so taken with the cottage, we decided to make full use of the balcony and view and eat at the cottage (there is use of a BBQ too).
Overall a romantic, enchanting experience.
