Beautiful villa with heated pool, village center and beach 5 minutes away

This is a wonderful house. You don't get the full impression from the photos.

We had a fabulous week in Flotte, the most beautiful spot on the island. The house is lovely, light and spacious with a good sized pool. The location is perfect for a family holiday, quiet and secluded but within easy walking distance of the harbour. Communication was excellent from start to finish and the daily pastries breakfast pastries were very welcome.

The property catered for our needs until a problem arose on Thursday when one of the 1st floor bedroom doors jammed and would not open. The mechanism for operating the handle had clearly malfunctioned. A child was in the room when this happened and was trapped. We could not free the door and having found a step ladder in the garage one of our party was able to scale the wall and get in through the bedroom window. We then had to try and get the child out through this window which was far from ideal and dangerous. We called the person who had checked us in at the beginning of the week and she came round at 10pm to take a look. She spent a long time on the telephone to the property owner who told her to take a sledge hammer to the door, This failed. As a consequence, the two minors who were sleeping in this room had to spend the night on sofas in the downstairs lounge. Again far from ideal. The following day we were expecting to be contacted and advised what was going to happen to sort it out. We heard nothing from anybody all day long. Suitcases, clothes and personal belongings were still inside the room. We were leaving early the following morning and had no option than to scale the wall again to be able to retrieve our belongings. The girls had to once more spend the night sleeping on the sofas. The lack of contact or action by the property owner in my view warrants a significant refund of the rental cost paid to him.
