Wonderful house in a green setting, surrounded by fields.
The house is very comfortable, functional and very bright.
A separate bedroom downstairs with its own bathroom for sharing the house with friends without embarrassment. Upstairs, the master bedroom has an air conditioner.
The garden is adjacent to the living room, you can rest there in the shade of a huge plane tree. Hammock and deckchairs are waiting for you.
A barbecue is also available on the terrace.
There are bicycles (4 or 5 adults) that you can borrow to stroll on the island or to go to the city center with the river shuttle (1 km).
A ping pong table is available.
The pool (11x3m) is to share with us in good intelligence, the priority is naturally given to the renters.
New:
A separate bedroom with its own bathroom (for 2 people) has been added in a separate room next to the house.

A dream stay! So quiet and private, with excellent hosts who were there if and when we needed them. Pool was particularly inviting. Kitchen well stocked, but the hosts leant us anything extra we needed. A really excellent stay and we are keen to return!

The pool area is outstanding. The place is quite but close to Avignon. You get get anywhere by bycicle. Lots of shadow to relax even on hot days.Good working wifi and the house is spacious. Christine and Martin are wonderful hosts...Thank you for the nice and relaxing stay.So all in all nothing to worry or complain about.....

Christine and Martin were excellent hosts and helpful advising on what to do and ensuring our stay was great - martin even set up a TV for Olympic opening ceremony. Well kept and very well equipped peaceful house in a rural location in the island close to Avignon. Having a car is ideal as walking/cycling in the heat to Avignon is not great. A nice pool was perfect for relaxing and cooling down. We really liked Villeneuve and enjoyed several of the restaurants in the which was beautiful and less crowded than Avignon. We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer as the area has so much to offer. We hope to return.

Villeneuve d’Avignon is very nice and maybe even beter for dinner than Avignon. We definitely recommend to spend at least a week in this house.

Characterful house in a quiet area but within a short drive (and free parking) of Avignon. Our hosts were very helpful and welcoming. Walking into Avignon was not really practical in the summer heat, but a lovely place to relax and enjoy a swim after exploring the surrounding area.

Christine’s renovated barn is a stylish, very comfortable and well appointed property. It is set in a large leafy garden, which is close to the main house but very private. The swimming pool was wonderful, especially during a very hot week in Avignon, and it was great to come home for a cool dip after a hot, busy day sightseeing .

Amazing holiday accommodation, hidden down the end of a track road. Spotlessly clean and modern. The pool was clean and bigger than we expected which was brilliant. As a family of five the property was plenty big enough. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Great jumping-off point for Provence

Two families - 4 adults and two 3 year olds - found this house to be a great base for a week in Provence. Christine and Martin are excellent hosts; friendly and responsive. They even invited us over to the main house for wine together with their two sons. It was too cold to use the pool while we were there, but the cottage is great, and the location on Bartholesse island is also excellent.

Christine and her family were welcoming and very helpful. Perfectly situated, well equipped barn conversation. The accommodation was under a plane tree, so majority of the day we benefited from the dappled shade. The pool a delight to play in for those who are confident in the water as designed to be deep at both ends, the pool surrounded by grass and trees. Avignon was about 8km away, with so much to see in the surrounding area that you do not have to drive too far to see wonderful sights, the river Rhone and the views of the Popes Palace and Castles on the opposite shore, accompany your journey to and from the house each day. We were a party of 4 ranging from mid 70s to 6 years old. The interior set out so you can have privacy and not be on top of each other all the time. We lived outside most of the time and had to pry our 6 year old out of the hammock each day. The property, location and owners certainly has our recommendation

I had a very good time with my family chez Christine and Martin. The place is great. Near Avignon but yet quiet. The house is cozy, even with the heat we had during our stay. The pool helped a lot in this case. Martin and Christine gave us great ideas to explore the region. All in all, a perfect place to enjoy Provence.

Cette maison a été élégamment rénovée mais l’atout majeur de cette location est son extérieur. Une terrasse ombragée et au calme absolu. Un espace piscine très agréable et avec beaucoup de charme. Très bon accueil des propriétaires qui nous ont partager les bonne idées de visite ou les commerces a ne pas rater (comme le glacier de Villeneuve les Avignon !).

Superbe endroit pour ceux qui aiment le calme et la nature. Idéal pour se ressourcer mais aussi découvrir la magnifique ville d’Avignon et des villages aux environs . Très appréciable aussi les chambres avec leurs salles de bain, la piscine , le hamac, le barbecue, le Ping Pong… Et, une rencontre inattendue de la propriétaire qui exerce le métier que le mien . Nach 13 Stunden Zug fahren sind wir in erst in der Nacht angekommen und waren glücklich, dass uns Christine unsere Not erkannte und mit allen Zutaten für ein Essen versorgte. Vielen Dank! Die Wohnung ist groß genug für zwei Familien und liegt in einer ruhigen, ländlichen Umgebung 10 min von Avignon-Centre entfernt. Ein Auto ist empfehlenswert, Läden finden sich in ca. 10 min Autoentfernung. Wir fanden eine gut sortierte, saubere Kücheneinrichtung, einen großen Pool, warme, weiche Betten und einen Holzkohlegrill vor. Check-in und check-out waren ganz unkompliziert. Wir waren sehr mit unserem Urlaubsdomizil zufrieden und danken Christine und Ihrem Mann ganz herzlich für Ihre Gastfreundschaft.

Gezellig basic huisje met alles wat je nodig hebt voor een aangename vakantie. Het verfrissende zwembad en de airco in de slaapkamer waren alvast een serieuze meerwaarde! Heerlijk groene en kalme omgeving. Minder geschikt voor gasten die niet goed te been zijn want je moet telkens trappen doen om het toilet of de badkamer te bereiken. Christine en haar gezin waren zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Auto is noodzakelijk voor uitstapjes of inkopen. Er zijn ook verschillende fietsen die je gratis kan gebruiken. Veel cultuur en ontspanning in de nabije omgeving. Kortom: Een aanrader!

Landelijk gelegen, op tien minuten auto-afstand van het centrum van Avignon. Totale stilte - als je de krekels niet meerekent. Ruim opgezet, goede faciliteiten. Slaapkamers met eigen badkamer eraan vast. Wasmachine, vaatwasser aanwezig. Boven slaapkamer met prima airco, beneden slaapkamer in van zichzelf koele ruimte. Ruime parkeergelegenheid. Beschikking over zwembad van circa 10 meter lang, wordt dag in dag uit goed schoon gehouden. Christine en Martin tonen zich hartelijk en altijd bereid te helpen of te adviseren over de omgeving en wat er zoal te doen is. We hadden hier met gemak nog een paar weken willen blijven. Aanrader.

Nous avons passés 1 semaine très agréable sur l’île de la Bartelasse dans cette maison bien située. Christine et son mari sont très accueillant, disponibles en cas de besoin et de bon conseils pour les différentes choses à visiter. La maison est conforme aux descriptions et agréable à vivre. Nous avons 2 filles qui se sont très bien amusées. La piscine est très bien entretenue et sécurisée. Bref, que du positif... on vous recommande sans soucis cette maison. Merci à vous et désolé d’avoir oublié de démarrer le lave-vaisselle avant de partir ;-) À une prochaine fois... Nicolas, Nathalie, Lucie et Émilie.

A very nice place and ideal as a hub to the northern Provence. The house is comfortable and fully equipped. Due to the island location it is very quiet and sorrounded by farmland. Yet the city centre is a short ferry trip away. Shopping is 10 min by car and there is so much to see, that 4 weeks will not be enough to cover the vincinity of a 50km radius. Christine and Martin are perfect hosts. A heaven for wine lovers. Plan for extra space in the car :-)

We hebben hier een heerlijke vakantie gehad! De eigenaren waren heel vriendelijk en zeer behulpzaam, het huis is een oase van rust. Helaas is de stad niet op loopafstand - je moet wel met de fiets of auto. Ook de fietsen worden door de eigenaren ter beschikking gesteld. We hebben hier echt een heerlijke vakantie gehad!

Séjour d'une semaine très agréable dans cette jolie petite maison. Le cadre est idéal et calme. La piscine apporte la touche finale pour des vacances ideales! Christine et son mari ont été des hôtes très disponibles et accueillants. Nous n'hésiterons pas à revenir sur Avignon!
