Le Bousquet is a pretty, restored farmhouse in the country of Orthe, dating from the 17th century, with a large garden with trees and flowers. Its exposed stones give it a lot of charm.
Our lodging is classified 3 stars furnished with tourism by the gites of France.
Our semi-detached gite is ideally located in the heart of the Basque countryside, a stone's throw from the Landes. Its preserved space will guarantee you a vacation out of sight.
Inside, you have an area of 60m² which can accommodate 4 people. On the ground floor, you have an equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room, a bathroom, and a separate toilet. The first floor is made up of 2 comfortable bedrooms and a bathroom with wc.
You will have all the necessary equipment:
Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, microwave, oven, gas stove, coffee maker, toaster, food processor, fridge-freezer. WiFi access is free.
Outside, for relaxation, you can enjoy a private terrace, a large garden with salt pool, facing south (shared with the owner, accessible daily from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.) sun loungers, barbecue, swings, trampoline, ping-pong tables…
From our small village, you can easily access all the centers of interest in the region, while protecting yourself from the summer affluence of the coast.
All shops (bakeries, supermarkets, etc.) in the villages next to Bidache or Peyrehorade (7km).

This is a charming house 30-40 min away from the touristy beaches and ideal for everyone who dreams of experiencing the beautiful hilly landscape next to the Pyrenees, with still good access to the Ocean. The next little town is beautiful and 12-15 min away with large supermarked, bakery and restaurants.
The house is located in a small village and is shared with the owner Sandra and her family who live on the other side of the house. Sandra and her family are lovely persons who share their wonderful swimming pool and who are available if you need them. We had our own terrace with morning and evening sun in the midst of a very beautiful garden. In the house everything works very well, the kitchen is large and well equipped, the bathroom is very nice and the mattresses in the two nice bedrooms are good.
Don't expect a modern city-appartment- rather expect a typical French house that has been around for many years and that is prepared in a charming way. We found it was exactly what we were looking for. Thanks also for your great hospitality, Sandra!

Thank you Sandra and family for such a wonderful stay. We loved the gite: a charming rural home, providing both relaxation and fun throughout the 2 weeks that we stayed. Everything you need is there - comfortable bedrooms and a good-sized living room/kitchen. The garden is beautiful and complete with the pool use, ping pong tables and swings. We spent the evenings barbeque-ing and bat spotting with a glass of local wine in hand. The location is superb as it is nestled deep in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of a city. However, 2 big supermarkets, a great boulangerie (check out the macarons), and restaurants are just a 10 minute drive away in Peyrehorade. The local lake is a 20 minute walk through country lanes and there is a restaurant and snack bar there too.
One of the chief attractions for us was the easy access to the Atlantic beaches with endless enormous rollers and great surfing. The mountains offered a truly stunning cave visit at 'grottes de Betharram', a trip on le petit train de la Rhune and white-water rafting.
Finally, our kids loved 'Base de Pop' - extreme sport water slides, inflatables and a zip wire.
Thank you so much Sandra and family for your warm welcome, top tips for beaches and days out and all round friendly hosting. We are refreshed and happy from the holiday and will certainly be returning.
