My husband surprised me with a trip to Tuscany to celebrate a "big" birthday. We had been watching movies and travel shows on TV for a while and knew that we wanted to walk the wall in Lucca for sure. We looked at many accommodations in the area, and decided that our key decision factors would be: (1) a place that looks and feel like Tuscany, where we could relax with a glass of wine at the end of the day, (2) proximity to restaurants, (3) conveniently located to travel the area. This house was a perfect match. Enjoying Italian meats and cheeses at the table, or sitting in the sofa, was exactly what we were looking for. The architecture details of the house and the exquisite furniture and decoration made our trip a success. The underpass to town was closed the first day, so we drove to the best pizzas we ever tasted. You need to try the "crudo, mascarpone, ruccola" pizza. Just divine! For the rest of our stay, we could walk to town in no time. Be careful about reservations though. Restaurants seem to fill up as we near the weekend. It was easy to drive to Pisa, Lucca and San Gimignano. We absolutely loved all 3 destinations. We decided not to go to Florence on this trip and to go again another time. San Gimignano wins the awards for the best views. If you have dreamt of rolling hills covered with vineyards, this is the place for you. Each and every city takes you back in time. It was fantastic. One added bonus for this location was the proximity to stores. I did not intend on shopping on our trip, but when I entered the Globo store, I could not stop. I bought 3 pairs of shoes! It was paradise! We could not have been happier with our host. We asked for a few recommendations now and then and he was always prompt to send us directions, always with a smile. That makes a difference too :-)

This was a wonderful place to call home for a month while working and vacationing in Italy. It easily accommodated my wife, 2 year-old daughter, and one grandparent for this time frame. The owner was attentive and available, and everything we needed was available in the apartment, from kitchenware to children's toys and maps of the area. It even included a gate to restrict our 2 year-old from going up the stairs and hurting herself, and a toddler bed for her to sleep in. The location is wonderful, Marginone is a small town with a grocery, pastry shop, several restaurants, and a bar and is only a 2-3 minute walk. Altopascio is close by with more shopping and restaurants, and is only 2-3 minutes by car. Also very close by is Montecarlo, which is a beautiful hilltop town with local restaurants, a few shops, and most importantly amazing views of the area and wonderful wine that is produced nearby. Further afield are Lucca, Pisa, and Florence, and all are within 30-40 minutes by car because of the close proximity of this property to the Autostrada. If you don't have a car, the local bus runs very close to the property and can take you to Altopascio, where you could make a 5-10 minute walk to the train station. From this station you can access all of Italy, of course. But most importantly, this is a lovely spot to spend time, the owner is wonderful, and there is so much to do and see close-by that you wouldn't have to leave to enjoy yourself immensely.

Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Genau wie auf den Fotos zu erkennen. Der dazugehörige Garten, mit eigener Einfahrt ist sehr groß und man findet immer ein sonniges oder schattiges Plätzchen. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und großzügig. Toll, dass es noch solche netten Menschen gibt, die einem nicht nur das Geld aus der Nase ziehen möchten! Insgesamt ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis super!!! In dem Ort selber können wir die Pizzeria wärmstens empfehlen. Auch sehr günstig und total lecker! Ansonsten ist die nähere Umgebung wahrscheinlich nicht die allerschönste in der Toskana, aber man ist mit dem Auto sehr schnell in Orten wie Pisa, Lucca, Montecatini, Florenz oder auch am Meer. Insgesamt haben wir den Urlaub sehr genossen und können das Haus absolut empfehlen!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Marginone (Altopascio), dans un gîte confortable, au calme (mis à part le passage des trains), de caractère (belle décoration) et entouré d'un très bel environnement (très beau parc). Nous avons été très bien accueillis par les propriétaires M et Mme Bernardini qui nous ont fourni , toujours très aimablement, quantités d'informations pour préparer notre séjour (correspondance par mail). Nous aurions par contre aimé trouver quelques informations dans le gîte concernant les commerces disponibles à proximité, il a fallu se débrouiller seul sur ce point. Il est dommage que les WC soient à l'étage et surtout dans la salle de bain ce qui n'est vraiment pas pratique quand on est nombreux... Un peu plus de pression d'eau pour la douche et les toilettes serait aussi un plus. Mais cela reste du détail car le gîte est fort confortable dans l'ensemble et nous le recommandons assurément . Un regret pour la Toscane qui est une MAGNIFIQUE région: le peu d'informations en français sur place, le problème récurrent des zones ZTL et du stationnement dans les villes (très stressant et plutôt incompréhensible pour les pauvres touristes étrangers) et toutes ces superbes églises malheureusement souvent à l'entrée payante (et chère). Mais c'est certain, le coin faut le déplacement! Il faut juste avoir le porte-feuille assez bien garni sur place... Arrivederci Toscana!

Belle ancienne grange rénovée simplement mais avec tout l’indispensable. Parfaite pour famille avec 2 enfants. La proximité de la gare d’Altopacio rend la visite à Florence facile et permet de découvrir une autre facette du paysage. Les incontournables ne sont pas très loin et faciles d’accès. Paysages, visites culturelles, gastronomie, tout est là. Les propriétaires sont discrets et prêts à rendre service si nécessaire avec beaucoup de gentillesse. Evidemment, nous recommandons cette maison.

Die FeWo ist für bis zu vier Personen wunderbar eingerichtet. Es ist wirklich ein Ort, um zu entspannen und die Toskana mit Rad, Bahn oder Auto zu erkunden. Die Küche lädt dazu ein, selber zu kochen. Es gibt in Laufweite aber auch ein wunderbares Restaurant. Der bestuhlte Aussenbereich ist ebenfalls sehr ruhig und lädt dazu ein, ein gutes Buch oder den Reiseführer genauer zu lesen. Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber lief absolut reibungslos. Die Empfehlungen für die nähere Umgebung waren klasse! Alle Daumen hoch.

Im Haus, das ein eigenes Grundstück mit eigener Einfahrt hat, ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Gulio ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend aber nicht aufdringlich und hilft gern bei Fragen oder Problemen. Von Altopascio aus kann man viele tolle Ziele in der Toskana in 1-2 h Fahrt erreichen, nach Florenz fuhren wir problemlos mit dem Zug vom Bahnhof Altopascio aus direkt in die Innenstadt von Florenz.

Abbiamo trascorso alcuni giorni durante il ponte del 25 aprile nell'antico cascinale completamente ristrutturato e siamo rimasti pienamente soddisfatti. Tutto come descritto dal proprietario, persona molto gentile , cordiale e disponibile. La struttura si trova in una zona molto tranquilla e strategica per visitare alcuni posti di estremo interesse. E' presente , all'esterno della casa, un giardino molto apprezzato da chi desidera relax. La casa e' dotata di tutto il necessario e in ottime condizioni.

Dès notre arrivée sur le lieu de notre séjour, nous avons été accueillis, d'une façon très chaleureuse, par le maître des lieux Monsieur Bernardini. L'endroit est idyllique, un grand espace vert très bien entretenu, idéal comme place de jeux pour enfants. Un petit ruisseau propre traverse le jardin gazonné, plusieurs places de parc y sont aménagées. Loin de la rue et au bout du jardin se trouve la résidence, très propre, agencée sobrement et disposant de tout le nécessaire pour un séjour agréable. La cuisine, le salon, les chambres et la salle de bains sont dans un état impeccable et irréprochable. Un local abritant une machine à laver est à disposition. Bref, on n'y est comme chez-soi. Le village se trouve à deux km de la ville d'Altopascio où se trouvent des centres commerciaux ( ouverts le dimanche ) ainsi que plusieurs restaurants et patisseries. Ceci est une appréciation partagée par tous les membres de ma famille ( 2 adultes et 2 enfants ). A tous ceux qui recherchent la détente, nous leur conseillons cette adresse magnifique. Nous tenons, encore une fois, à remercier sincèrement Giulio (Monsieur Bernardini) pour sa gentillesse extrème et pour toute l'attention qu'il nous a réservée. Grazie mille e a presto. Gill

We stayed in this very lovely nice house in Toscany. It has a great garden and is by car well connected to cities in the surrounding. We enjoyed staying in the house very much and the owner lives next door which is comfortable in case of a question etc. The house is cosy, clean and has a very nice traditional war interior. There is a parking place on the terrain which has fence arround it. This makes it very safe for families which small children. We really recommend this place for a nice and peaceful holiday!

Notre séjour s'est très bien passé dans cette location agréable et confortable. L'accès indépendant est également appréciable. Toute la famille a apprécié le grand jardin, les arbres et le terrain herbeux. L'accueil de nos hôtes était sympathique. Idéal pour une famille avec deux enfants, mais c'est tout à fait faisable avec 4, comme nous!

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine à 6 dans cette ravissante location. 4 enfants (11 ans à 5 ans) ravis de profiter du grand jardin et de découvrir la région (Lucca superbe ) ... et la gastronomie. A Montecarlo (2 km), petit village très mignon, de très bons restaurants et quelques viticulteurs!

la maison est parfaite très propre, grande et très bien située, nous avons fait une très grande et jolie balade en vélo en passant pas Montecralo à travers les champs d'ollivier en partant tout simplement de la maison. Non loin de l'autoroute on rejoind très vite Florence et Pise. Seul point négatif mais qui est compensé par l'espace, c'est une maison ancienne entièrement rénovée (et avec goût),il n'y a donc pas beaucoup de fenêtres, la maison est un peu sombre. Le propriétaire est vraiment très gentil.
