The house is a converted barn with thick stone walls and traditional wooden shutters, which stayed cool inside despite several days of 38 degree heat! Beds were comfortable, with solid wooden furniture in the rooms. The large, airy sitting and dining room was spacious, with a table to seat 10 and two sofas. The sheltered outdoor eating area had a long granite table with beautiful views of the garden and wooded hills beyond. The pool and terrace have smart railings, so the children could be let loose in the large garden without any risk. There are good markets in Villeneuve sur Lot and other nearby towns, Chateaus to visit and the Lot valley is very beautiful. I recommend this house for a family holiday or for a group of friends - they supply 8 bicycles for energetic guests. The owner lives nearby and is very helpful.
