About this house rental

100m from the castle of Saint Fargeau,

Nestled in the heart of the charming historic village of Saint-Fargeau, at the foot of the listed 15th century Church, drowned in the small peaceful gardens of the district, the Jeanne d'Arc house is a very comfortable, discreet and refined residence. Photos, books and souvenirs reinforce the charm and character of this address.
We are struck by the absolute silence barely disturbed by the bells of the matins.

The house belongs to the memory of the village.
She housed the famous Joan of Arc, then mother Boutevilain, a charcoal and candy seller. Carefully restored 5 years ago, by Noémi Guyot, chatelaine of the Château de Saint-Fargeau, this one welcomes you happily to her timeless house under the mocking eye of her big chocolate labrador named Henri.

Welcome to you!

The house is ideal for your family reunions, birthdays,
small marriages between friends, or reunion with friends.

Located in a village of character at the gates of Burgundy,
in Puisaye-Forterre just 2 hours south of Paris, surrounded by green, wooded, gamey and hilly countryside, your guest house is a secret address hidden in the heart of the historic village of Saint-Fargeau in Yonne.

The Maison Jeanne d'Arc is less than a two-minute walk from the Château de Saint-Fargeau, and a 15-minute drive from the essential tourist sites of Ratilly and Guédelon castles, the educational farm of the castle, and the Colette's birthplace in Saint-Sauveur.

The vineyards of Sancerre, Irancy, and Chablis can be the subject of a stage excursion
to explore Vézelay or Ancy le Franc in the heart of Burgundy.

It is located in the heart of the village close to the shops. You can park easily in the street just outside. There is a small walled garden, a beautiful welcoming entrance, a large comfortable living room, a real dining table, and a perfectly equipped kitchen for those who like to cook.

The total capacity is 15 people. (No more for security and insurance reasons). Eight bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. 5 double beds. 5 single beds.

On foot, the alleys will guide you to bakeries, pastry shops, cafes, the pharmacy, the grocery store at Momo. The supermarket is a two-minute drive away. The pretty Toucy market on Saturday morning is 20 minutes by car. I will give you my addresses to buy the best products at the source.

Horse riding, golf, hiking, wine tasting, children's workshops, guided tours of tourist sites. I can help you get organized.

Order us a meal if you prefer to have nothing to do. Simple, seasonal cuisine. Like at home. Organic and healthy. Locavore philosophy.

KIDS AND GRANDS: There are loads of comics to read!
And for fans of jogging, they can go around the pond in the park of the castle thanks to a "sesame" that I will give you.

The garden
Priest's garden with southern accents, with climbing terraces and roses, wisteria, and sage, tomato, iris and honeysuckle feet, where it is good to enjoy doing nothing after your tourist day. We can see the rooster weather vane from the proud spire of the church, the starry sky, and above all, we are just as charmed and surprised by the peace that reigns there.

The oven was too small for catering for the numbers of guests but we were only there for 2 nights and the second we were out at a wedding. The description of how the bedrooms led into each other was confusing- one double room could only be reached by walking through the single and another only by walking through a twin room which was not ideal. The other rooms were lovely though the one over the stable block was not suitable for older people. The garden was real bonus.
