InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland by IHG

This is one of the most unique and beautiful hotels we have ever stayed at. The surrounding scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and spending time here was a truly unforgettable experience. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful nature, and there are great parks and entertainment areas for children, making it an excellent destination for families. The rooms were spotless, housekeeping was excellent, and the room was cleaned regularly. The staff were always friendly, welcoming, and ready to help with anything we needed. The hotel is located quite far from downtown Shanghai, but that was exactly what we were looking for. We chose it for its beautiful natural surroundings and enjoyed three wonderful days away from the busy city. We would definitely love to come back.

The breakfast was the weakest part of our stay and, unfortunately, the least enjoyable among all the hotels we visited in Shanghai. It is designed almost exclusively for Asian guests, with virtually no European breakfast options available. Considering that this unique hotel welcomes many international visitors, we believe the management should consider offering a wider selection of European and international dishes to better accommodate guests from around the world.

Really phenomenal drone, light and laser show at night. Can be watched from the viewing deck or comfort of balcony. The club lounge could be very busy with no tables but the food was of a good quality and substantial though it ran out often and took a while to replenish. The club king room we booked had a lovely large bed, a big bath and a balcony to view the quarry and show. Good AC. Gym had good equipment but was a little hot.

The hotel is pretty far from anywhere so I would recommend 1 or 2 nights only to watch the shows. The pool, sauna and steam room area was always cluttered with towels and staff were not very helpful. The steam room had to be turned on every time I went and it takes an hour or two to warm up. The bottom floors where the restaurant and underground rooms are does smell of foist and was unpleasant. Our room on floor 12 did not smell however thankfully

Location within the quarry was so unusual and spectacular. The Laser show at night was worth the stay alone. Staff were friendly, polite and efficient

Evening Buffet was ok. Some of the meats on offer were very tough and overcooked. Leisure facilities were very poor for such a spectacular hotel.

A wow sight of the quarry and big rooms but besides that nothing else

Food was ex. Hotel was stinky and poorly managed. Location was out of nowhere. INCITY mall (15-20mins drive) was the closest to get amenities.
