At the same time hill, at the same time mountain, the Garlaban is this mountainous massif which enters the massif of Etoile and the solid mass of Sainte Baume embraces Marseilles of all its splendor.
In the North, are the Sainte Victoire and the plain of Aix en Provence, South is Allauch, the Four Seasons, the Camoins, the village of La Treille, Aubagne, Marseille and its agglomeration, and further it is Cape Canaille above Cassis; in other words, this massif is visible and watched. With Sainte Victoire put in canvas by Cézanne, and the Garlaban told by Pagnol, two landscapes of Provence are gathered in this heart of Provence
