rent apartment renovated in Chatel 7/9 people

We had a very nice stay in this apartment. It was neat and clean. The location is great, it is only a few minutes by car from the center of Châtel. There is a shuttle bus stop right at the apartment. A larger supermarket is about a 10-minute drive away. We have 2 suggestions for the owner: 1) To have a wifi connection in the apartment would be nice, especially because the 4g reception inside is variable. 2) It would be nice if there is a good deposit arrangement (by credit card). In many countries, banks no longer issue checks.

Lovely small apartment styled in the local Savoire

We had a nice stay. Before arriving we had a kind contact with the owner. By in- and outcheck and during the stay we were kindly helped by Charlotte.

The good: We stayed with three friends in the apartment. The apartment has been renovated and looks quite modern. It has a good kitchen, with a good oven and induction cooking equipment. There were plenty of utensils and plates and a spacious fridge. The living room includes a big 6p dining table, and a small seating area. The bathroom was okay, although there was still some concrete visible in the shower so I guess they have to finish it. The bedrooms were fine as well, with nice medium hard matrasses. The apartment has a balcony with a view over the village and the mountains. We didn't use it because it was dark every time we came back from the slopes, but I can imagine it's nice to have. The bad: Although the apartment is for 6 people, the living room is too small. There is a small couch and a coffee table, but not enough space to sit for 6 persons. You would have to sit around the dining table in that case. Also, some things were unclear upfront: 1. The sheets and towels are not included, but this was not mentioned anywhere. We asked up front and were prepared, but this should be mentioned. 2. Unclear what level of cleaning was expected. The description doesn't say anything about the cleaning, but there is also no cleaning fee charged. In the end, we had to completely clean the apartment. But when you expect your guests to fully clean, then you should communicate it upfront and provide sufficient cleaning cloths and detergents. This place is very good in combination with wintersports. One chairlift is a 5 minute walk from the apartment, but we recommend to take the free ski bus that stops in front of the apartment. It will bring you to a bigger ski station in 10-15min. We had a lovely stay with a lot of snow, and a beautiful view on the mountains. Apart from the points mentioned above, we recommend this apartment (for max 4 adults). Because of a very steep staircase, we can imagine the apartment is not ideal for small children.
