Very warm welcome, very clean house, super private, you can walk straight to the beautiful river with plateaus and rocks to jump from. Beautiful medieval town around the corner. The view from the garden is fabulous. (Although I would have liked to have pruned some to have an even better view😉) Canoe rental very close by, cozy bar. There is even a ping-pong table at the house, which is really fun and at night you can see the Milky Way. In short, all the ingredients for a fantastic holiday!

Lovely house in the best location possible for a relaxing stay in the south Ardèche. Fantastic views, very close to the river where we swam and kayaked. A few mins walk to a few great restaurants and bars in beautiful Balazuc. Francoise and Michel are lovely helpful people.

A good break

A good break

This property was very well located on the edge of the village which provided a relaxing break, but very close to all amenities. The house provided great accommodation for a party of six adults with plenty of space in the gardens for everybody to be able to find their own area for reading or sunbathing etc. The view over the river was very good and we were provided with entertainment by the local youths jumping from the high rocks into the river. A very relaxing holiday was had by all.

Exceptional location overlooking the river and within easy reach of charming fortified village.

We have just returned from a 12 night stay at this lovely beach-front house (20 Aug to 1 Sept 2017) which we feel cannot be beaten on it's position on the edge of this quaint, medieval hill village with it's narrow, cobbled alley-ways set on a sheer cliff overlooking the beautiful Ardeche. Les Rochers is immediately next to the bridge and main beach. Along the shore, there are many patches of sand and an abundance of rock shelves which are perfect to lay a towel on. There is a great atmosphere if you stay close to the main beach (with supervised swimming). Both here and just upstream are departure points for canoe trips and a series of 3 rapids make the canoeists squeal with delight as they go by. Also, the more daring jump from the higher rock platforms. A 5 minute walk down river, it's much quieter with great swimming and a sandy beach. Fish feed from your hands; frogs, lizards are easy to find and wild flowers grow between the pebbles. Goat herds graze and Bonelli's eagle, the Ardeche reserve's emblem, soar overhead. We are a family of 5 (children aged 11, 15 and 17) and the accommodation was just as photographed. Francoise and Michel were very friendly, helpful and easy going. They speak a little English and told us about places to visit, for example, the Pont d'Arc cavern, a re-creation of the World Heritage Chauvet-Pont d'Arc Cave with it's 36000 year old paintings. The house was fully equipped; dishwasher tablets, herbs and spices and all basics were provided. There is a super market just south of Ruoms about 10km away and a tiny shop in Balazuc where we bought baguettes and croissants each morning. We mainly cooked at home (the view is so exceptional) but there was a choice of about 5 bars/restaurants if you prefer. There is a table tennis table, boules, skittles and other games to play. The village is quieter at night. When we visited it was close to end of season and there was sometimes music. We loved to sit out and look for shooting stars. The garden is the unique part of this house. There are lots of little terraced areas nestled between the rocks, it was difficult to decide where to sit and you are so close to the beach you can pop back as you wish. The impressive Pont d'Arc is a must to see but it was good to return to somewhere much less busy. The canoeing was affordable and really fun. Our favourite was the Vogue to Chauzon stretch. We used "Balazuc Loisirs" based nearby on the main road. Les Rochers is highly recommended!

Wir haben mit unseren Teenager-Kindern zwei wunderbare Wochen in diesem tollen Haus verbracht. Françoise und Michel sind engagierte und sehr sympathische Gastgeber, die immer ansprechbar waren und uns wertvolle Ausflugstipps für die Region gegeben haben. Ihr Haus war perfekt für uns: Die Lage am Rand dieses bemerkenswerten Ortes (der überhaupt nicht überladen oder verkitscht ist), die Nähe zum Fluss, in dem wir an unterschiedlichen Stellen schwimmen oder springen waren. Und auch die weitere Umgebung – natürlich mit Kanufahren auf der Ardèche und vielen schönen Wanderwegen. (Tipp: Unter den Info-Broschüren von Françoise und Michel ist ein französischsprachiger Wanderführer mit super Routen!) Und dann das Haus selbst: Es hat wirklich alles an Ausstattung, was man sich wünschen kann, ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und super sauber. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Wir haben eine Woche in Balazuc verbracht und konnten uns prima erholen. Das Häuschen liegt sehr ruhig, der Ortskern ist in 5 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Zur Ardeche läuft man vom Haus in 2 Minuten. Der Blick auf die Felsen ist wunderbar. Wir haben mehrere tolle Wanderungen (Cirque de Gens!) vom Haus aus unternommen und auch zwei Radtouren. Die Küche ist bestens ausgestattet und auch die Bäder sind schön. (Ein Bad ist ein Durchgangszimmer in das zweite Schlafzimmer und das Kinderzimmer, welches ebenfalls ein Durchgangszimmer ist.) Wir kommen gerne einmal wieder. Nous avons passés une très belle semaine dans cette maison, parfaitement située au calme vis à vis les rochers et au bord de l‘Ardèche. La cuisine est bien équippée et les salles des bains sont bien faites (une salle de bain est un espace de passage autant que la chambre d‘enfants.) Nous avons faits de très jolies randonnées (Cirque de Gens!) de la maison.

Très bon accueil de Françoise et Michel. La location est vraiment très bien située et prendre son café le matin avec la vue sur l'Ardèche est un vrai plaisir. La maison dispose de tout le nécessaire pour passer d agréables moments et est très calme même si elle est située à deux pas du Pont. Les propriétaires sont très à cheval sur les règles liées à la Covid ce que nous avons également apprécié.

Merveilleux séjour aux Rochers de Balazuc dont l’emplacement est idéal Le calme règne perturbé uniquement par le chant des cigales et les croassements des grenouilles. Nach den seht guten Eindrücken vom letzen Jahr, als wir schon einmal Gast bei Françoise und Michel in Balazuc sein durften, habe wir uns entschieden, dieses Domizil wieder als den Ort unseres Familienurlaubes zu wählen. Wieder konnten wir unseren Aufenthalt in vollen Zügen genießen. Die Lage, das großartige Umfeld, die Innenraumgestaltung und der Vermieterkontakt sind sehr, sehr positiv. Einer unserer Söhne hat gefragt, ob wir die Ferien nicht von Oktober bis Weihnachten verlängern könnten, so sehr hat er sich in diesen Ort verliebt. In Bezug auf die "Liebe" gibt es auch noch eine eher philosophische Sicht auf diesen Ort: Schönheit, die sich ihrer Attraktivität bewusst ist und sich vermarktet, ist meistens nicht mehr als schön zu bezeichnen. Balazuc ist ein sehr schöner, charaktervoller Ort; der sich moderat und zurückhaltend vermarktet und insofern seinen Charme und seine Authenzität erhalten hat.

Wir, eine 4-köpfige Familie aus der Schweiz (Rubigen bei Bern), haben in Balazuc das perfekte Haus für uns gefunden. Das Haus liegt ein wenig abseits und ist doch mitten in dem Dorf Balazuc. Wir konnten am Abend unsere Kinder (Amadeus 7 , Marlin 4) im weitläufigen Gelände mit verschiedenen Terrassen spielen lassen und selber unseren entspannten Urlaub zelebrieren. Man kann vom Haus in einer Minute zur Ardeche herunterlaufen, dort im Flusssand oder mit Kieselsteinen spielen und auf die interessanten geologischen Verwerfungen des gegenüberliegenden Ufers schauen. Das Haus ist von Françoise und Michel geschmackvoll und künstlerisch aufeinander abgestimmt eingerichtet worden, so dass wir uns rundum wohl gefühlt haben. Damit man den Kontakt zur Aussenwelt nicht ganz verliert, verfügt das Haus über Satelliten-Fernsehen und einen W-LAN Internetanschluss. Der nächste Supermarkt ist 14 Minuten entfernt, in Ruams, zu finden. Ausflugsmöglichkeiten gibt es viele, die Informationen dazu findet man im Haus. Alles in Allem: Ein wirklich ansprechendes Urlaubshaus mit charmanten und informativen Vermietern. Wir werden versuchen, im nächsten Jahr wieder zu kommen. Familie Schwarz
